Re: Judges/birds

Just wandering what the board members think about the 1969 RAIV Firebird converts?. Only 17 made, only 7 have surfaced so far!

Re: Judges/birds

Do you own one?If you do your very lucky.

Re: Judges/birds

It's interesting to note that only 3 stick shift Judge verts were built in 71. Prior to 71 high perf Pontiacs were predominately sticks. Low compression and more automatics fortold the future for even the one GM company that tried to keep performance alive. And yes gtaa9 he does own one.

Eric,
I think you've posted about this before? Wasn't there a thread started by you on RAIV Birds? Just going off memory. No offense, but it might be better to post and be direct, like "I own one of the 17 RAIV Firebird converts - what do you guys think of these?" .Looks less like a thinkly veiled advertisement. Again, JMHO - which I have been told isn't worth much. At least at my house.

Happy holidays.

Colin, I'm glad my posts keep you on your toes, car business slow? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif As far as my car, yes, I do have a 69 loaded RAIV/4spd bird convert, as I posted in a previous thread. As far as your meaning on the "thinkly veiled" advertisemnet, it is not for sale, if that's what you eluded to. I'm glad my posts are so interesting.
To the rest of the site, just wanted to know what your guys thoughts were, as alot of you are into the 69 Camaros.
Colin, be sure, if anyone out there wants to know any details of my car collection they'll know who to ask.
Happy Holidays to you too. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif

Thank you very much. I really like the 69 birds. I got this one from a friend, who found it way up in northern Ontario. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

judgeragtop

Just go ahead and get it out of the way, list your cars.

And if there is a list similar to the 71 Judge Rags; on the IV birds your talking about, please post it. I would like to see what kind of a challenge there is in tracking the rest down.

yellowjudge 12-16-2005 05:44 AM

Re: Judges/birds

Hi, there are seven 69 raiv/4spd converts out there. These cars are quite elusive.

Steve_Hoog 12-16-2005 06:43 AM

Re: Judges/birds

Didn't you say 17? Has Mattison done crunched the numbers like the 71's? Do you not have the stats on these car?

yellowjudge 12-16-2005 04:42 PM

Re: Judges/birds

Yes, 17 total 12 sticks & 5 autos made only. What makes these cars so special, is the 69 TA converts were all RAIIIs, no IVs made. So, if you want a ragtop RAIV bird, the firebird was it. The specs on my car: silver/black deluxe, remote mirror, hood tach, gauges, clock, ralleys, ps/pb, pwr top, pwr ant.
So far the #, 7 found, is correct: 3 blue, 1 silver, 1 green-all sticks, 1 yellow, 1 brown -autos. As far as I know, 1 is a frame off, a real nice blue one in Atlanta. If anymore have been discovered, please share with board. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: Judges/birds

Do you have a color break down on the missing ones, so there is a point of reference to track them?

yellowjudge 12-16-2005 04:47 PM

Re: Judges/birds

I don't belive all the 17 vin#s known, as he would have to run all converts to find the RAIV option. I hope some of the missing 10 will some day surface. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Wow, what's with the negative tones, who cares if he posted it before. I'd love to see some disscusion on those Ram IV convertible birds. It sounds like they're incredibly rare. Judge Rag Top, I would like to see whatever info you have on these cars. Don't let the petty post police rain on the parade.

Re: Judges/birds

Wow, make a simple comment about judgeragtop hijacking a Judge thread and look what happens!

This thread is about JUDGES. Here is judgeragtops thread on RAIV Birds:
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show...0/fpart/1/vc/1

If judgeragtop wishes to rekindle the conversation on his car and similar cars, I thought it should have been done in the appropriate sections. As stated in my post, I did mean no offense by my comments but have noticed that judgeragtop seems to only post about cars he owns - like the 71 Judge vert he used to have. My suggestion was that rather than play some cat and mouse game and never really come out and say he owns one seems silly to me. Heck, I'd be proud as hell to own his Bird - it is an awesome and extremely rare car, surely far undervalued at this time because not many people know of them. So why not just pipe up and say "Hey, I have a car they only made 17 of!" ????

I have to endure "code" and hidden meanings in discussion with my lovely significant other ("sure" means "what are you stupid?" , "yes I like your cars" means "buy another and I'll kill you" , etc.) , it would be nice to cut to the chase here.

CHEIF RAM AIR and judgeragtop, relax. It was a harmless post and I even wished Eric happy holidays. Of course, I got a scathing nasty PM from him as well.

This is a forum, and we all come here to post our opinions. I posted mine. Maybe it is time to lock this thread and start a NEW thread on Judges and a NEW thread on judgeragtops 69 FB RAIV list????

I'll be looking for east coast coal in my stocking this year. LOL

Sincere and warm holiday wishes to my sensitive Pontiac friends https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Oh, and for judgeragtop, https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Re: Judges/birds

I have nothing against judgeragtop at all, but Colin has a point. It took me four post to get what I was looking for. I thought if there was enough information on these IV cars judgeragtop brought up, I might try to track them like I do the 71 Judges. I'm not mad, but I too was starting to feel like I was in a cat and mouse game.

I'm an honest guy and don't beat around the bush, with exception that it might hurt some one.

I say down with all this secrecy and hidden agendas. I'll go out on a limb and say in 20 years there won't be many people left that care a rats *** about these cars, so we should let it all hang out now while there is still an audience.

yellowjudge 12-17-2005 07:10 AM

Re: Judges/birds

No cat & mouse game here. Checkers anyone? Not selling the bird convert. A previous post states I had a 71 Judge convert., never owned one of those. I had a 70 RAIII/4spd(Orbitorange) & have a 70 RAIV/4spd Red convert. I know of most of the 70s, but never really tried to track down the 71s.

yellowjudge 12-17-2005 07:15 AM

Re: Judges/birds

Thanks Chief, I agree, no need for anyone to be so uptight! I'll repost on the raiv 69, so the board can review all previous posts. I have 3 little ones, all 6 & under, all healthy, so that's what I'll focus on & be thankful for.

Steve_Hoog 12-17-2005 11:42 AM

Re: Judges/birds

I was going to say; if you had a 71 Judge Convertible and didn't tell me, we were going to have a problem!!! HAHA j/k

I think it's probably more a matter that I didn't ask the right questions.

yellowjudge 12-17-2005 06:05 PM

Re: Judges/birds

I love the judges, had a 69 RAIII/4spd silver hardtop, 37k orig . miles. I've had a 70 silver judge, neat car, loaded! & was a export car to Germany, radio & seatbelt delete!
I currently have 2 70 RAIV Judges, coupe & convert.
Steve do you have any Judges, don't remember the cars in your collection.

Steve_Hoog 12-17-2005 08:48 PM

Re: Judges/birds

69 GTO I put Judge stuff on.
71.5 GT-37 I got from Gary.
68 Bird that is a major pile of rolling rust.
68 Tempest I may use for a drag car some day.

Nothing special in my possesion, I'm as normal a Pontiac guy as there can be when it comes to the cars a person can have.

I figure I better throw out some pics of my next project Judge before Eric and Colin get in a big fight....Just kidding....

I just started resto on my 70 RAIV Judge Hardtop. It looks worse than it is. This car was painted at least 6 times. Very rust free because of that I think. The orginal WW block is gone but eveything else is original, trans, rear, carb, dist, 614 heads. It takes me about 2 years to finish one. 8 hours work done 1,892 left...

I have had it since around 1990. Boomershine sold a lot of hi-po pontiacs in the day.

Re: Judges/birds

This is kinda like the dealer out in Cushing Oklahoma, the absolute pit of no where!! Probably only a couple of thousand people in the town, yet he ordered more RAIV cars than anyone else in the area. BLKBRD over on PY ended up with one, white Judge bench car. After talking to him, I tracked down the original dealers; the one that order cars is out in CA now, he had some really cool stories about the cars.

By the way; love a silver Judge, very sweet.

yellowjudge 12-18-2005 05:51 PM

Re: Judges/birds

Silver is a great color. Do you do the work on it yourself? My 69 still had the little metal Boomershine tag. I believe there is a silver 70 RAIV GTO from Boomershine coming up for sale soon.
I like the 70 the best in the Judges, but I'm partial, as I have 2 of them. "Was that a plug" I'll have to wait on the Yenko police, for that one.! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif
