This 69 Hurst S/C Rambler was sold new at Savage Rambler in Shillington PA to Bill K. This car is 1 of 1,512 produced. All S/C Ramblers were 4 speed cars denoted by the M in the 3rd digit of the VIN and were equipped with a 390 ci engine denoted by the X in the 7th digit of the VIN. They all also have 941D charcoal vinyl split-bench seat interiors. This car was a Premier Unveiling and part of the Nash Nutz AMC Invitational. It was restored by the owner Kevin Shope in his shop. This is definately the nicest S/C Rambler that I have ever seen.

This Frost White 70 Rebel Machine is in the more common Red, White in Blue paint scheme. There are two different production numbers associated with these cars. I have seen both 2,326 and 1,936 so I'm not sure which is correct. All Machines came with 390 ci engines as denoted by the Y in the 7th digit of the VIN. They were available with either 3 speed automatics, 3 speed manuals or 4 speeds. This car was a part of the Nash Nutz AMC Invitational. M. Bilyeu had it at the show.

For those of you with a nice collection of Musclecar Review magazines, this car appeared in a shootout of 4 in the late 1980s. It ran against a Daytona, 1968 GTO, and (I think) a CJ Mustang coupe. At the time it didn't have the Go Pack stripes, and I think it was originally a stripe-delete car with wheelcovers.

Hot Rod Drag Week took place last week. It started and ended at US131 Motorsports Park in Martin MI. Other stops were Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk OH, Lucas Oil Speedway in Indianapolis and Byron Dragway in Byron IL. Drag Week is made up of 18 classes based on engine and chassis/suspension combinations. The following are a few of my favorites from the event. The Unlimited Class and Overall Winner was Dave Schroeder in his brand new '19 Corvette built by Jerry Bickel. It is powered by a 872ci engine on NOS. One unique aspect of this car is it's Pro Stock style manifold that is mounted backwards to get cooler air off the windshield. He won with a 6.73 average @ 198 mph. His best pass was a 6.45 @ 209 on Day 5 at Martin. This was the only Pro Mod style car that competed.

Alex Taylor's 55 210 finished 3rd in the Unlimited Class and 5th overall. This car is powered by a 525ci big block with twin turbos. This car had sat behind their shop for a number of years and was not in driving condition when they started the build. The front end and doors were painted to match the rest of the original body. This car averaged a 7.71 with a best pass of 7.63 at Byron.
