Nice Chevelle!! Would those headers be of the "180 degree" type? I think that's what they're called anyway??!!

I disagree at the age of 15. This is what I like: (This car is actually the way I fell in love with the street machine look)

That is the signature stance of the muscle car street machine era.
How fitting that the 66 Chevelle is recognized on page 66

I seem to remember seeing you on Team Chevelle. Don't you own the Midnite Special?

66 L78 ragtop 06-23-2015 08:24 PM

Re: Is "stance" important?

Yea... Still own it. For 2016 MCACN we are hoping to host a 66 L78 Chevelle display to include all colors available for that model year. The car will probably be part of that display

Pardon for hijacking the thread. Back to the stance thread

HA! When I started this thread, I planned it that way! A 66 on page 66.
Figures an aircraft pilot would notice that. I'd fly anywhere with him!

I remember in the early 1980s, the hot ticket in my area for Chevelles was BBC A/C springs up front, with station wagon springs in the rear. Use twist in coil spacers up front and air shocks in the rear to get the appropriate level of "jacked up".

For some reason, I still like A-bodies sitting tall (with the right wheel an tire combo) a whole lot better than lowered with 17" wheels.

One thing is certain in any stance thread: Everyone's stance is the best stance! You like low and level? High all around? Nose high or nose low? They all seem to be right!

Yep..1974 color..All those Cadillac Firemist colors looked good.

He bought the car in 72 or so and it was yellow and he painted it in 1974 when he saw the new Cadillacs.

Here's a 'Cuda that has that look. Correct stance, rake and Musclecar Era attitude. What do you think? Gives Ol Yeller some competition. Somebody, drop the flag!

Looks good, but I think the slicks are too wide. Not knocking the car at all just reminds me of the '80s Pro Street theme. Your Camaro nails the "Look"!!!

Represent AMC!

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...psxdopwgxd.jpg

This thing has HUGE wheel wells. I know 275/60-15 would fit easy, a lot bigger then that would fit also.

markinnaples 07-13-2015 01:42 PM

Re: Is "stance" important?

So many Pro Street cars have the wrong offset wheels, or are too narrowed, etc. and just don't look right, but that Cuda has it exactly right.

That's a blast from the past! Looks straight out of the late 1970s / early 1980s with those vintage "billboard" outline letter polyglas tires.
