69HurstSC, I talked to him Saturday afternoon. I have no idea what # I was on his list. After I heard the $50K offer it didn't matter much because I don't have that kind of cash handy for an emergency car purchase. I got the same story you did and I thought the guy sounded pretty sincere. We both got a chuckle because he said he had all these people calling him wanting to wire him money and knowbody even knew who he was! He said he didn't want to get into the bidding thing and cash made it easier because he was in the mid'st of a divorce. He said the guy from Iowa sounded pretty honest so he made the deal. He also had a rare '67 Chevelle but it didn't have a motor. Maybe he found out the real value of the car and decided to not go through with the $50K deal? Or someone offered alot more and he sold it out from under Clint? We'll probably never know the truth.

IF the car was real, it will resurface somewhere. The speculation that Clint could have been outbid may very well be true. But, if it happened that way someone here knows what happened. I would hope they would step up and say something to stop all this conspiracy finger pointing. Would be in everyone's best interest IMHO.
