Looks much like the SS I bought new at Doc Stewart Chev in Clovis, NM. Only difference is mine had wheel covers and a white lower body stripe ... wish I had that one back. Got orders to Vietnam and I damn sure was not going to leave it for my younger brother to drive ... traded for a 64' Chev wagon, etc.

----Took a ride on the one based here in the Detroit area about a month ago. What a thrill!!!.....Bill S

Depending on where it was built I might have put the fenders on it.

40 years with GM truck, in product design and vehicle assembly. Those "square bodies" were the ones I started out on.

All told I worked on 6 generations of GM full size trucks.

And one small car.

(...and one very big car).

My oldest cousin was a ball turret gunner on a B-17G that went down over Kiel Germany, May 23, 1944. He is buried in Belgium.

I got a ride in Aluminum Overcast a while back and also got time in every position except the pilot's. I have so much respect for the brave men who carried out these missions and the men and women who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy!!:flag: :worship:
