Bill and Debbie Lussier, retired fishing captains from Maine, decided to try their luck at swordfish for the first time and came away with a catch of a lifetime for all those involved.

Fishing with Capt. Nick Stanczyk out of Islamorada in the Florida Keys a few weeks ago, Bill fought a massive swordfish for eight hours and, after a team effort, finally landed the 757-pound behemoth 20 miles from the point it was first hooked.

By comparison, the Florida state record is 612 pounds, 12 ounces caught in 1978 off Key Largo.

With the 1977 Chrysler, the left fender mounted turn indicator would light up when the gas pedal was floored. When reading the owner's manual the answer turns up. The car had a "gas saver" feature- upon low to no vacuum the fender light on the driver's side would light up, indicating poor fuel economy

In a 69 Dodge Charger with power windows, if you don’t have the keys on you and you need to close the windows, turn on the emergency flashers, step on the brake, set the turn signal lever in the left or right signal position, and the power windows will operate.

Did you know that in 1958, the top dog engine option for your Chrysler car was the Golden Commando: 305 horsepower and . . . . . . . . 350 cubic inches!

The conversion work was completed by National Coach Engineering (NCE) of Port Sanilac, Michigan

The Camaro Z28 wasn’t the only beneficiary of this creativity, as NCE also performed similar work on the Pontiac Trans Am during the same period. These conversions were all performed on these models between 1979 and 1981, at which point NCE went bankrupt, and the factory closed.

It works on GM's too, except you have to hold the emergency flasher half way in.

All year long as Earth revolves around the sun, it passes through streams of cosmic debris. The resulting meteor showers can light up night skies from dusk to dawn, and if you’re lucky you might be able to catch a glimpse.

The next shower you might be able to see is known as the Lyrids. Active between April 16 and 28, the show peaks around Sunday night into Monday morning, or April 21-22. The moon could interfere with viewing the peak this year.

The last thing you want to see when you turn on the light in the bathroom late at night is a spider in the middle of the floor. Also, it can make your skin crawl to watch one scurry across the bedroom floor and hide under a dresser before you can get to it.

If there’s one spider, that means there are plenty more. That’s not such a bad thing as spiders kill other pests in your home, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you want them anywhere near you.

There is an easy solution to repel spiders in areas of the home where you don’t want them, and that solution is: moth balls! Moth balls not only kill moths, but they can ward off other pests, such as spiders.

  1. Grab a Mason jar and use a drill to put three or four holes into the jar’s lid.
  2. Take three moth balls and place them in the jar and close the lid tightly. Make sure to avoid contact with skin and eyes when handling moth balls. It’s best to wear gloves and don’t inhale the fumes.
  3. Make one jar for each area where spiders are a problem.
  4. Be sure all of the jars are tightly sealed and out of reach from children and pets.
  5. The effect of the moth balls should last up to six months.

At least the deer was gracious enough to cross the road near the "deer crossing" sign.

I heard a woman call in to a radio show and thought the state should not put those deer crossing signs along the road. She said it was dangerous for the deer to cross the road and they should not put in a crossing for them :scholar:
