If the machinist is good..assembly should be a breeze..take your time...slow and gentle. no distractions

This is a rare car, but will not be a rarely driven car:-)

I visited the machine shop after work and toured the shop.

We then discussed each process and the corresponding machine or machines.

Then we discussed each item on my scope of work.

In most cases I understood what the normal process would be and in which areas improvements, or special care are required for a street engine which will be rigorously tested for 1320 feet at a time.

He had no concerns working with a DIY customer and mentioned many of their customers do the assembly just like I am considering.

We will work on the details and costs over the next two weeks and then hopefully I will have an engine plan.

I have to say that chassis looks really great. Nicely done and keep it up!

I will have one of the kids help me dust it off so it shows up nicely:-)

Thanks for the compliment, I am very happy with the results so far.

I got all excited last night and after the usually run a round, diner this, practice that, I snuck out to the garage and stayed out till 11:00 PM:-)

I boxed up any labeled baggies from my container shelf as either items that I have already replaced, or as items that will be replaced shortly, this way I don't have to dig through everything to look at a fastener, or a clip.

Then I started making labeled baggies of item off my extra engine. (This engine was bought used and installed by Al and his daughter at her high school, so it has the original accessories installed on it) This extra engine is not a W31, as you can see dished pistons, regular harmonic damper, small valves in the heads, etc, but the accessories are gold!!

I am getting my original front upper control arm washers coated, and noticed they are two different sizes, does the big one go to the front?
