Just read thru this entire thread again. A perfect example of a proper restoration that a Chevelle like this deserves.

I will revisit this thread often thru-out the course of my Chevelles restoration.

Any updates Rick?

In the midst of a full-blown basement remodel, and injured my back. Slow recovery sucks.

I will get back after this car asap.

Anybody have a NOS driver's door weatherstrip?
I have one for the passenger side.

Peter426 12-10-2017 07:19 PM

Here's a photo of one from back in the day.

Thanks for posting that pic.
That is the 2nd 300 Deluxe SS that I've seen with bright rocker spear.

Wonder if that is Park Ridge, IL

You're welcome. I believe this photo is from Thunder Valley Dragways in South Dakota.

Black L78 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan Found

I know Steve Koppien through drag racing at either Byron Dragway or Topeka Raceway some years ago, when he was racing a '69 COPO Camaro. It's cool that he raced that car way back then. Cool find! Don.

Ryan1969Chevelle 05-18-2019 01:47 PM

Did you decide to stay with the pink engine colour?

Glass is in as of last night.

wheelhop 05-22-2019 02:05 AM

Really?

Geez, give the man a break....he is just recovering and now is in therapy for a broken hip.
Rick is working everyday to get the car ready for the NOCC.

Rick let me know if you still need any of those parts we had discussed.

Dan

Rixls6 05-22-2019 10:15 AM

Will check the parts to see which side I need.
Thanks

Ohio in August.

Ryan1969Chevelle 06-25-2019 12:27 AM

As long as you get something done each day it is possible!!!

Ask me how I know :-)

I can’t imagine doing a car at this level, no room for compromise....

Call me any time, I can cheer you on!

Looking good Rick! Let me know if you need a hand with anything. My In-Laws are in town for and unknown amount of time and could use an excuse to get out of the house!

69PostSSChevelle 06-25-2019 12:52 AM

Jim,
If you need an excuse for a couples days I have a spare room and you can help with mine.

----Rick,,,Couldn't make it to Ohio as I had a great boat show 4 miles from my house. Wish I had been there to see your preview and the rest of the 69's. With that said the car just looks crazy nice. Terry would have loved it, of course!!!...….Bill S

Still have some things to finish up before MCACN, but mostly just stickers and some cleaning.

tunes 08-30-2019 12:39 AM

Rick - I looked your Chevelle over at the NOCC show and was impressed with how it looked. I wish I had known the whole story of it at that time. Now that I've read this whole thread I'm really amazed at the work you did and how it all turned out. Great job and great car!

Rixls6 08-30-2019 01:03 AM

Thanks for the compliment.
Yes, it was quite a challenge, but a lot of fun.

RPOLS3 08-30-2019 01:54 PM

Looks great Rick - thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing it at MCACN.
