The trailer for my yellow RAIV car in 69 and many other GTOs backed by dealers nemesis as well had these yellow mastercraft trailers.
Idk if Pontiac had a deal with them
Or what. I originally thought it was just the Stephen Pontiac cars w the yellow and mastercraft because they were made in CT and Stephens signs were yellow too . But I kept finding pics of 69 judges on yellow mastercraft trailers as well so IDK Or maybe the dealers just talked to eachother.

Couldn’t find the picture of nemesis on its trailer . bTW it was wrecked in a trailering accident.

My car on its trailer. Master craft made different styles and often were painted yellow

This is the 62 Chevy ramp truck that hauled my car back when it was raced between 1972 and 1977. It was last known to be in CT through the 80s, maybe early 90s. I'm hoping to find it since the original MO 302 was installed in it when the 6 cylinder blew.

turbo69bird 01-12-2025 06:30 AM

I’m
In CT I’ll keep my eyes open for it. Any idea where in CT?

I heard the Hartford area. I also heard once that it went out west....who knows. I can't imagine that 302 is still in it but, stranger things have happened.

Love the modded side bed on the Ford pickup to allow access when the trailer blocks the tailgate access.

You can just hear a version of the story in the parking lot.......

"We broke the race car last night. Just to have something to do, we ran the tow rig today......... into the mid 14's"

Was more common in bracket than you might think. Saw this a number of times at North Star Drag Strip in the 70's. Break the race car, dial the tow vehicle in for mid 15's and get a 3 second head start. Drove the competition nuts sitting that long and a fair amount pulled an impatient red light.

Dad used to do that.

The 64 LeMans tow car had a 421 in it and was quicker than the 64 GTO race car.

If anybody gave him crap he would say "shoot – I can beat you with my tow car!" and then proceed to do it.

'68 GTO with a 400 was a good runner, too.

Just a few ticks off the NHRA record right out of the box.

Squarebody rig is pretty tight. Duster rig just looks exactly like the life of a racer with just enough to field a quality car.

The 57 Nomad pulling the 57 210 is about as cool as it gets. There was an earlier post with a 55 Nomad towing an early Corvette.

Here’s my 68 c30 ramp truck. I try to use it as much as I can. Some pics hauling my two yenkos, and a Berger copo. The ramp truck gets more attention than the cars when I use it lol !

----I hesitate to call that room in the second pic a garage. It's way to clean. I love it. Wish my cave looked anywhere near that good. I chose the wrong epoxy floor guys as it seems like I can get a nick by dropping a shop rag....Bill S
