This In Violet 70 Hemi Cuda is a 4 speed car with 4.10 gears and was advertised as having its original engine. According to the options on the fender tag this car was sold new in California so it currently has the incorrect tail pipes and rear valance. The stripes were also added. It hammered for $320K.

This 70 Cuda is 1 of 4 Rapid Transit System show cars built by Plymouth. This is a Pilot Car that was shipped to Chuck Miller for him to customize for the '70 show season. It was returned to him to be repainted for the '71 show season. It was purchased in '76 by Anthony Fridecky and he just stored it in his garage until a year or so ago. This is an unrestored car with under 1K miles on it. It was just featured in the latest issue of Mopar Collector's Guide. According to their feature Anthony, who is in his 90's and in failing health, wanted to sell it to the Henry Ford Museum but they weren't interested in it. A deal was then being made to sell it to the same collection that has one of the other RTS cars but that fell through when someone from Florida offered more money for the car. That purchaser promptly consigned it to the Mecum Auction in Indianapolis. The Mecum mechanics detailed it and got it running well enough to cross the block. It hammered for $2M. Apparently the new owner is Evan Metropoulos.

I went to the MCACN Meetup at the Gilmore Auto Museum yesterday. This Madeira Maroon 67 Z/28 was sold new at Gates Chevrolet in Mishawaka IN. J. Turley has owned this car since '74. He said this is 1 of 3 known in this color.

Here are some pictures from inside the museum. There is currently a Supercars Then & Now display in the main lobby when you enter the museum. This 67 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Berlinetta is part of that display.
