Re: Old Street Scenes
Dog, photos are great as always -- do you know where this shot is from ??? The Indian Weathervane on top is worth a small fortune today -- if it's still there.
Maybe Lorillard Tobacco company, Greensboro, NC ???? http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...eathervane.jpg |
Re: Old Street Scenes
Not to steal from the thread, but the one in this photo may be done by the same coppersmith - Cushing, Fiske ? Anyhow this one sold at Sotheby's in 2006 for $5.84 Million

Re: Old Street Scenes
But the price of copper is down.
It may only be worth $2.92 mill in todays market. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif |

Re: Old Street Scenes
Dog, I love the picture of the Bell Kingcobra (P63A) in the airport ramp shot. Dressed in Reno Air Race #55 paint. Military S/N 42-69063. Bell put the big V-12 behind the pilot and ran the prop-shaft right between the pilots legs. A guy named Bour raced it.

Re: Old Street Scenes
Great one of the Penn Central train on a transfer run coming off of the L&N Bridge into Newport Kentucky (with that 70 Chevy in the photo). That whole area is completly different (the bridge in the background is still there...no rail, no autos...foot traffic only).
