Been having trouble finding out some info from my NCRS report. My dealer code is 22 and my zone is 45. Has anyone heard of this code and zone number?

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Wheelhop above should confirm or maybe recheck his info too as even the NCRS site lists Zone #03 Dealer #342 as Hauck Chevy Waynesville MO?
~ Pete
I sent a question to the NCRS website and they replied saying that they had two listings for dealer information: One was prior to 1970, and the other after 1970. The older listing does not have information on dealer 342/zone 3, so with a "later" '69 built car I was provided the dealer information from the newer listing which has 342 assigned to Harris. |

Here is the reply I got...and my response.
Date: 2014-07-15 16:41:40 Name: John Waggoner Printer friendly version Message: The Dealercode Database is made of up submissions by many people both Corvette owners and owners of other Chevrolet makes. There is no verification of the data in the Dealercode Database other than from time to time someone notifies us and supplies evidence that there is an error. We will correct those errors. The shipping report that was sent to you included information from GM as to the dealer the car was shipped to. This is where the trucking company delivered the car. From time to time dealers did trade cars to satisfy a customers wants. In this instance the car may have been sold by a different dealer than it was shipped to. The Shipping Data Report is still accurate because it identifies the dealer the car was shipped to. Sincerely, John Waggoner Chevy Muscle Docs http://www.chevymuscledocs.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2014-07-16 03:55:02 Name: tom williams Printer friendly version Message: Thanks for the reply...but, your records are not correct...the info I sent on the dealer number and zone were from your database...if you look at it you will see what I'm talking about. I understand that dealers swapped and sold cars...but, from my research Krise Motor Co. wasn't even in business in 1970...thus making it impossible for them to have been the dealer. Please review this again...and send a corrected report. Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
A few bumps w/ the NCRS service but let's all try to be thankful for what we do get it'd be a shame if the service was discontinued because of too much flak and/or negative responses? Not all info is available to satisfy every circumstance so best use the results to seek out the rest of the story by connecting w/ others who have cars shipped to the same dealer codes etc? As for matching the codes w/ the actual dealers, much info out there is indeed conflicting including what NCRS has on file but getting the zone and dealer code is key then a fella can track the dealer or confirm those indicated on the NCRS reports. We've had a few Laks Chevrolet threads here in the past so try the search box, click below to one of them that includes a link to a Laks Chevy newspaper ad near the end of page two. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...opics/458080/1 ~ Pete |

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
I have been noticing a lot of people running across dealer code discrepancies Remember that the codes were recycled. Here's an example where a dealer went from Chevy to Olds to Pontiac under the very same code in two different states. So depending upon what year code list you are using, you will get different results:
Dealer Make: CHEV Dealer Code: 13435 Dealer: DAVE MYERS CHEVROLET, INC. Dealer Address: BOX 217 NORTH JACKSON, OH 444510217 Set Up Date: 00/00/00 Dealer Make: OLDS Dealer Code: 13435 Dealer: DON KINCAID MOTORS, INC. Dealer Address: 5239 S. 4TH ST. TRAFFICWAY LEAVENWORTH, KS 66048 Dealer Phone: 9137272277 Set Up Date: 11/20/89 Dealer Make: PONT Dealer Code: 13435 Dealer: DALE SHARP, INC. Dealer Address: 1900 TOPEKA AVENUE TOPEKA, KS 66612 Dealer Phone: 9132331361 Set Up Date: 00/00/00 |

Thanks for the quick reply. I knew it should be Whit as that is what dealer is listed on the POP for my COPO, but the NCRS letter that I received only showed the zone and dealer codes, so wanted to be sure they matched. I think this dealer sold one of the ZL-1's as well.

I had known my black rs/z dealer and delivery date based on the POP documentation and original owner information. I have now confirmed it with the NCRS-GM shipping data report I received today. My car was delivered to Dave Hallman Chev, Hamburg, NY and built on Friday 3/14/69. The orig owner Paul Murphy picked the car up on 3/21/69 which was also a Friday.

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Very cool
Especially with all the bogus POP's out there. Now you have confirmation re: the selling dealer. Unfortunately for me, there are apparently no records existing anywhere regarding dealer 833 in Zone 23 (Oklahoma). I am guessing it was a small town dealer. If anyone runs across old documentation of dealer codes from 1969, I would love to hear from you. It is good to know that the car started out in Oklahoma. Many times, the tax commission can run the vin and get a complete owner history. I have found records for other cars going back to the 50s and 60s. But.... I already tried, and they have no old records of my car. When the tax commission change over computer systems in the late 70's they LOST information on some vehicles. Mine is one of those. They don't even have a record of my brother's ownership. |

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
I had the original Protecto-plate with dealer stamp and original owners name, address and delivery date. In addition I purchased from the car from the second owner who happened to be best friends with original owner In fact the second owner was the new car prep technician at the dealership and prepped this car for Paul. Years ago I also got in touch with Paul but unfortunately he has since passed away.
I'm searching for the original owner of my first car (Orange RS/Z) which I purchased from the original owner in 1977. Unfortunately I can't recall the original owners last name or address but know the town. I've contacted local car clubs and car guys in that area but no luck to date. |
