I have talked to Roger for years. We had never met until the Reunion. It was great to met you & your car. You both were fun to be around. We had fun talking old times.

What a great display of Harrell cars, and a fine bunch of owners. Outstanding!

Re: RogerD's 1969 Dick Harrell Chevelle
Tracked down all Missouri DMV "owners of record" for my old Chevelle . . .
The following five owners lived in/around Knob Noster Mo: . . HK, David P & Richard D owned after I traded it Until July 1983 . . . . . Roger C owned from July 1983, sold in Aug 1983 . . . . . . . Roger's mom said he passed away in 1987 . . . . . Robert V owned from Aug 1983, sold in 1985 at auction, Higginsville Mo . . . . . . .The Harrell emblem went missing at that auction . . . . . . .I tracked Robert down in Dec 2008 and we talked several times . . . Then, the car changed owners three more times . . . . . Joe C, Independence Mo, had it until Dec 2007, sold on eBay . . . . . Jason S, Spencer Ia, bought on eBay Dec 2007, sold on eBay Jan 2008 . . . . . Jon W in Ottawa Il, bought on eBay Jan 2008 . . . I bought it back from Jon via his August 11, 2009 Craigslist add  I'm checking with them for their stories - hopeful I can share them . . . Also hopeful I can come up with a few circa 70's photos to share :beers: |

Cool info Roger!

I posted the below Feb. '68 Bill Allen Chevrolet/Dick Harrell ad in the Old Newspapers thread previously but Roger asked if I could drop it here too. Great the old format pics are working Ok also still easily moved around! :beers: ~ PETE - https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7933-image.jpg - |
Talked via phone recently with a gentleman who worked at Bill Allen Chevrolet back in '69 - he was working the "rack" the day I bought the Chevelle. He commented, " . . . All three Dickie Harrell cars"
|
Yeah baby - good stuff! Really personalizes it!!

Orange Crush "home coming" at O'riellys World of Wheels event in Kansas City  Not the typical show where I had to explain "Bill Bill Allen Allen" or his connection with Dick Harrell  The response was overwhelming ❤ Bob Allen (Bill Allen's son) dropped by to see the Chevelle again & talk about old times ❤ |
Boy that car is beautiful I’d love to see it in person

Looking good, guys! Those are two of my favorite Chevelles.
|
About 20 years ago a friend of mine in Odessa, MO owned the all original red 1968 Dick Harrell 427 Chevelle. Wonder what ever happened to that car?
|
Likely the same car Joe Sweezy and Steve Sandlins previously owned car. I think it is now in the Brother's Collection?
|
I think it might have been. If I remember correctly it had dual carbs on it.
|
Yep, same as Joe's.
|
Google "Dick Harrell 68 Chevelle" on the net and you will see it.

----Using that bench seat for what it was designed for, I see! absolutely no social distancing going on as was so very common back in the day. Something got lost when buckets became so prevalent. Good for you two. I'm just thinking now and we don't have one bench seat car. Oh, the shame...Bill S

Congrats Karen and Roger :)
Nothing better than a Bench Seat....Muscle Car! Dan |
Congrats Karen and Roger!! Awesome!!!
Bench seat 4 speeds forever!! :headbang: Proud to say I have 5 of them in my garage!! :3gears: |
