It's a 1992 Brougham d'Elegance. It just turned 65,000 miles, runs/looks/drives like day one. My wife kids me that in our twilight years I'm going to be that old man with the crazy eyebrows and Hawaiian shirt driving his giant Caddy on the expressway with the cruise control locked in solid at 45mph. |

Re: Show us your shop!
Wow, didn't realize they made that body style of Caddy's into the 90's. My parents had an silver/silver/silver '80 Coupe de Ville that was a dream to drive and as beautiful as could be.

1992 was the last year for the "square" Broughams. In '93, GM went to a more "round" body style for the big Cads. |

Re: Show us your shop!
It's been some time since there were some new entries on here. So here is an update! For about four years Lloyd Costley (Edgemont Village)and myself have been looking for a suitable commercial building to purchase to combine our workshops, have some rental space and invest in a property that could give us a decent appreciation over time.
We viewed over 30 properties over the past four years and submitted 6-8 offers that just went no where. In Nov 2015 we were shown a 3500 sq ft building about to be listed and got an offer in right away. Our offer subject to minimal conditions was accepted immediately with a Mar 1 2016 closing. Attached are some early photos, overgrown property 50x50 rear yard. The main area is a 2600 SQ ft open shop with 14 ft ceilings in 1500 sq ft, 300 sq ft low ceiling , a Devillbis Paint Booth and plenty of storage in the old office areas, 900 sq ft. This was a view from the back , completely overgrown http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...pslw18bsvs.jpg The shop had been used by a sign manufacture, with lots of tables, added walls, miles of old electrical and a rotted rear wall.http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...pswp7wvosw.jpg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psfkbeuq1v.jpg. |
Re: Show us your shop!
We knew we had work ahead of us as this 60 year old building needed a lot of upgrades to get to code. The building was sound with a new roof, East and West walls were concrete block and the posts and beams were solid redwood.
In some order we needed the back lot cleared, http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...pssp4pqjl2.jpg http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psxybdywvx.jpg The interior gutted http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psndjkoldr.jpg And anything removed that we didn't want! http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psqzorrdaq.jpg Old boiler! http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...psjplnfrkh.jpg As most of the work has now been completed, I will do various updates over the next weeks so the progress reports don't drag on. |
