Pontiac's last Hurrah, still impressive looking, the WS6 designed for collectors to store and never drive. Lessens the warranty claims, increases profit per unit

Modern crocodiles are known for their sprawling four-legged gait, but this Cretaceous crocodilian walked on two legs as it prowled prehistoric shores, as evidenced by well-preserved footprints it left behind.

Ford's new Bronco will have a 6 speed manual transmission which also includes a Crawler gear (C). The red lettering is just the photo publishers watermark.

After looking at all the photos, there were multiple redline tire providers. Is it possible they all didn't place the stripe in the same position?

Good point, and a great discussion!

The '65 and '66 cars shown use a 7.75x14 or similar size tire like my first pic, the Goodyear Power Cushion from a '66 Chevelle SS. A different animal.

'67 was the introduction of the wide oval 70 series tires.

My center pic (with the 837 job #) is from a '67 Chevelle SS, a Firestone Super Sport Wide Oval, F70x14. Although it is a white stripe, the placement is the same as red stripe.

The bottom tire is also from a '67 Chevelle, but it is a Goodyear Speedway Wide Tread, F70x14, and the stripe is closer to the rim. So yes, manufacturer does make a difference.

So, the red Firebird that sparked this discussion would be wearing Firestone Wide Ovals, while some of the other '67s (the pace car) likely Goodyear Speedways.

(By the way, these are real non-DOT spares from survivor cars)

NASCAR ratings get a boost after Confederate flag is banned from races

Quote:

Based on the overnight TV ratings for Wednesday's Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway, NASCAR's decision to prohibit the display of the Confederate flag at its events and properties did not negatively impact viewership despite pushback from some of its fans. Quite the contrary.

Wednesday night's race at Martinsville, which started just a couple hours after NASCAR released a statement on its banishment of the flag, delivered massive numbers relative to comparable past Cup Series races.

The overnight ratings were up 104 percent "over the comparable race last season," per Fox Sports executive vice president Michael Mulvihill — a rating of 1.14 compared to 0.56 for the 11th race of the season last year, an event at Dover International Speedway presented on the same channel (FS1).
