Never seen one either. I can't imagine it would have been added in order to run a larger dia. clutch. It would have hit at the top anyway....yes/no?

It is for the 11" flywheel. The top has the clearance the the bottom cover hits that is where the spacer comes in handy. This wasn't a factory piece but fabricated to avoid issues.

If I knew for sure those headers would fit a chevelle, I'd pull the trigger on them.

Has anyone had any experience with these Cragar headers? Good, bad or indifferent? Does anyone have them on their car now that they would be willing to share a picture of? I really like the blue color.

Thanks,
Marty

Tracy,
I did buy them. They were too cool to pass up. I found in a 1970 Action Performance catalog a Cragar Header listing and the part number matched the Chevelle application. I am still hoping to hear some input on these or a picture of them installed.

Thanks,
Marty

Thanks for posting the photos. Those are very cool items. It looks like it has been polished. Were they anodized like the ebay one states? Or are the normally bare aluminum? Are you going to use them on your Vega?

Thanks,
Marty

Hemicolt 01-11-2013 09:45 PM

Re: Day 2 parts discussion

These came from the original owner. Never anodized, it's the way it came.
I'm not using these on the Vega, it will have a YC-310 and a Jacobs or Mark 10 style CD box.

Seafrost & Sequoia were cool colors. My co-worker had a Chevelle identical to mine, but Sequoia Green. Both were L-35 4 speed Bench Seat cars.

Re: Day 2 parts discussion

FWIW, I like Frost Green too!
A buddy of mine bought a Garnet/Black stripe '69 Z a few years ago. Needed a lot of TLC so he started to strip it. Discovered it was originally a Frost Green, no stripe, flat hood, green gut car. (Original drivetrain to boot!)
He was thrilled. Had trouble finding interior parts to go back to the green, then life, wife & bills took over and he let the car go.
Would have been a cool car if he could have finished it.

I am partial to Frost Green as well and I have owned this one since 1999...
