Great stuff on here. Hope the real car makes itself known soon. Would that 67 still have been an earlier Jenkins car? III?
Levi Holmes is still around too, met him at SEMA show last year where he had his black Camaro. https://i.postimg.cc/1RG45rXP/IMG-3314.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/NL0QdTRP/IMG-3314.jpg |

Levi had a few cars I think, also a Nova? Great to hear he's around.
Doug Boyce's book covers all of Jenkin's cars. III went to the Kimball Brothers, then they sold to a guy who later sold it to Dana Mecum. Can't stress this enough, Doug Boyce's book is great. Easily bought on Amazon but you can find it sold by other vendors. Doug interviewed Jenkins a number of times and from what I've gleaned the interviews were recorded for accuracy. He also does not mix facts with rumors. Speaking of rumors, Joe Algieri is quoted at times as saying he delivered IV as a roller to TN, but also GA. I don't know why Joe has said different states over the years he does not come across like a guy who would be that forgetful. The issues with different states coming up over the years is it makes it much more difficult to research in the area. We have Ron K as the guy who said he saw IV in the 90s in NC, I think Richie it's worth asking whether Ron actually looked at the car or just the outside. We have some comments about the car back then that some of the front chassis work looked rough and not as good as the rear... So someone maybe knew what they were looking at? This research would work better if some of the folks like Joe were amenable to a detailed phone conversation. Take for example the chassis. We could speculate it had a Dana 60 at point of sale but it better to just confirm that. If it was ladder bar, whose ladder bars, SRD? How did Bill Hayes fit into the picture? Ostensibly if Joe ran Bill's logo on the quarter panels Bill had a decent amount of involvement with IV. |

Bob Venerio bought the car from Rotunda in 1974 and later sold it to the Algeri brother's. Bob is in Doug Boyce book as being an owner. The car in Pittsburgh is fake. It's ALL been hashed out for years. Also throw in there Brooklyn Heavy said the Pittsburgh car was a fake. Let me know when you find something new.

I’m enjoying reading this post and learning about Jenkins race cars. Quick question please, is the 67 pictured below the car that Dana Mecum presently owns?

here is another photo of the ex Brooklyn Heavy white car.
It has always been a question if the white car or the orange car was Toy IV |

Bottom of the barrel, last few pics that haven’t been posted in this thread yet? Anyone have a better shot of this first one w/ what appears to be 2x ‘68 cars in the same picture? Sorry it’s so fuzzy but looks like early ‘68 before Schiefer Clutch sponsorship/decals on the doors?:hmmm: :beers: ~ Pete . |
the one on the flat bed looks like the 69 Toy VI
Bill ran it in SS/C in early 1969 with a ZL-1 engine single 4bb cowl hood |

Looks like you’re right Joe, I was thinking any ‘69 car would have Schiefer Clutch decals but digging deeper, just found this Maple Grove shot w/ P/G decals + Schiefer on side glass also D80 same as the ramp truck pic. :beers: ~ Pete . |
