Bill,
Great seeing you at NOCC.....I bet your itching to jump back on the Nova. Dan |
Re: Project: Hot rodding a 69 Nova
It was good to see you Dan, as well as the the other Chicago guys. It didn't take long to dive back into the Nova project. I had several boxes of small parts waiting for me when we got home. I also spent some time repainting the hood today. I ran into a snag, so I will hopefully finish up the repaint tomorrow. I also picked up the SMS vinyl roof at the Ohio show, so thats another project to do.

Re: Project: Hot rodding a 69 Nova
I haven't posted progress pics in a few weeks. Been busy though. I also had a few car shows to get thru.
I put a ding in the hood, so I had a little fixit job to do. Dent fixed, color on the repair, cleared the whole hood, color sanded and buffed. No sign of the dent, and the moldings are back on the hood. Thanks Albert for the spray booth time. http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps73928cc1.jpg http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps8a9fabec.jpg http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps9ea2954f.jpg I decided to replace the vinyl top. Picked up an SMS top, removed the old vinyl, cleaned all the glue off, installed the new roof. I also buffed all the moldings before putting them all back. http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps80d4acb1.jpg http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...psae3bad69.jpg http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps931c2c99.jpg Done with the roof/moldings!! Took 3 days!! http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...pscacd45e6.jpg I got all the wire harnesses from American Autowire, and installed them. Also got the rad support radiator, shroud, etc installed. (Thanks Mike for the help with the placement of the radiator) Mike drew out all the dimensions for drilling the mounting holes. It came out great!! http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...psed67b720.jpg Picked up a new grill. I didn't like how it was painted, so I repainted it. Done/ready to install. http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...pse5668f53.jpg I also got the inner fenders done. Had them blasted, I repainted them, and put all new rubber on them. http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps161fa908.jpg |
Re: Project: Hot rodding a 69 Nova
Bill,
Looks Great! There is no way my wife let`s me place any car parts in the house.....When I was single, my entire living room floor was filled with restored Chevelle parts It was the best furniture Dan |
Re: Project: Hot rodding a 69 Nova
She should be happy I got the fenders out of there!! There's a plan in the works for a new building out back, just to store cars, and all the crap associated with them. That probably won't happen until the Nova is done/hopefully sometime before it gets too cold. I'll have to switch from car mode, to building mode somehow.

Re: Project: Hot rodding a 69 Nova
Well Bill, you've only got 3 months before winter and you still haven't got permits for your out-building!

SW tach's sending units NOS parts. lol |
Re: Project: Hot rodding a 69 Nova
Realistically, I probably won't get to it until early spring. There's no huge hurry. Lots to do on the Nova, and I have to move the single car garage that's there now.
