Utah drivers might soon be able to run red lights under certain conditions, thanks to a bill that passed through the state's House of Representatives on Monday. The state Senate will now consider the legislation, which would allow drivers to pass through red lights on highways with a speed limit of 55 miles per hour or lower after coming to a complete stop for at least 90 seconds. The bill adds that the driver must also reasonably determine that the stoplight has not detected their presence, that no other vehicles are approaching the intersection and that no other safety hazards are present. |

Hmmm, I think I recognize this. Did you grab this off of RK’s website? Hey Bruce - do you remember this car at the Pavillions? Does this jog your memory? Recognize the guy in the “beater” ‘70 Chevelle? |

“If the cars start to drift together during the burnout, you break right and I’ll break left”. - yeah that would have worked!!! After 20 seconds both cars were completely obscured by the smoke!!:eek2::hmmm: |

The magazines came out in February 2004, March 2004 and commentary in May 2004. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...1.jpg~original http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...1.jpg~original Jeff was also working for Johnny Lightning at the time. They were planning on bringing out a new miniature of a 1965 GTO and asked if he could use the artwork of our photoshoot on the packaging. Naturally we said yes and received a couple boxes of these as a thank you. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...3.jpg~original http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...6.jpg~original |

The next time I was at his desk he pulled out one of those Johnny Lightning models, still in the packaging. “That’s my car” I said. “I know, right?” He replied. “It looks just like yours”. “No” I said. “I mean that is MY car!” I had to approach it from a couple different angles for him to get what I was trying to convey. https://i.postimg.cc/85XLBrrz/image-YL7-HZZZ8.jpg The Twister Special got its start when Ford's Special Promotions Division was approached by American Raceways International to build five Mustang Mach 1s and five convertibles to use as pace cars at its five planned race tracks around the country. All ten, each equipped with a 428 SCJ and a C6 automatic transmission, were specially prepared by Ford. Ultimately, plans called for 100 special-edition cars with unique side striping and ARI graphics. Unfortunately, ARI completed only two of its NASCAR-level tracks before filing for bankruptcy, leaving Ford with ten undelivered ARI Mustang pace cars. Not wanting to lose its investment in the project, Ford reached out to find a sales district willing to accept delivery of at least 100 Mustang units. The Kansas City sales district (DSO 53) elected to take on the project and call it "Twister Special." All 96 were Grabber Orange. Originally all 96 were to get the 428 CJ engine but due to a shortage only 48 did. Of those 48, 24 were SCJ models, like this one which has the 3.91 rear. The other 48 got the 351. Ford debuted the Twisters at their “Total Performance Day” on November 7, 1969 at Kansas City International Raceway. At the time, Ford said in a press release, “On November 7, 1969, a Twister hit Kansas City Ford dealers' showroom -- and was a smashing success." |
