Yep, strange one for sure but some Chicagoans may remember it, especially if it appeared at any Auto Shows back then? Here's the '67 'Velle I was referring to a few posts back, the amazing for the day GM option nomenclature is all to identify the alloy heads, not block? :beers: ~ Pete . |

---- Lee,,, You have found the two that I referenced. The red 66 belongs to Scott Freese (AKA the Iceman). My 66 was next to Scotts at MCACN last year. Great guy and good friend. Blue Penske 66 belongs to Kevin McKay and is absolutely stupendous!!!.......Bill S

This doesn't 100% go along with the thread but still cool either way. A co-worker brought this in as he was going through some stuff. It was a reprint of an article from the Nashville Banner from April of 67 about the 4th Annual Auto Show here in Nashville.

----Wonder where that cut-away 67 Camaro is today?......Bill S

Pete, fantastic thread. Thanks for all the research. Incredible stuff. I was wondering if you could post the picture of the 1967 Camaro Cherokee that appears on page 35 in the April 4, 1967 edition of The News Journal from Wilmington, Delaware. I am putting together a thread on Camaros that appeared at major auto shows back when they were new and would love to include this picture. Thanks.

Thanks Scott and lots more saved to post whenever I get the chance. I love the Cherokee too and look forward to your thread on the other site, please hook us up here w/ a link. I think I know which pic you mean but don't see it on page #35 so will try searching it out again later? Here's a few Cherokee pics I posted in a different past thread, others here somewhere too. :beers: ~ Pete - https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pic...8785-image.jpg - https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pic...9274-image.jpg - https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pic...8783-image.jpg - [/QUOTE] |

Thanks! I will link it here when I finish. I'm in the research mode right now. Here's the info. I just searched "Camaro Cherokee" and it was one of the first to come up.

Fantastic!!
Thanks Pete, I appreciate it. By the way, the Camaro next to the Cherokee is the yellow Californian that is most usually seen on a trailer connected to the modified yellow pickup known as the Golden Cameo. Scott SMKZ28 |

Wonderful pics and articles. Thanks for posting, Andy. There were two Cherokees. One with red interior and one with black interior. The black interior car, which still exists, was built 06B and could not have been at the NY Auto Show in April '67.

Cool update and info Jon! Is the red gut car confirmed gone or just MIA? :hmmm: ~ Pete . |
I saw the black interior car here at the Pavs in Scottsdale a few years ago. I think it was going to cross the block at one of the auctions at that time. I have pictures of it somewhere but can't find them at the moment.

Thanks for the link Jon also always sharing such great info! Here's an expanded view of the Red interior Cherokee also a few more from the '67 Chicago Auto show, some the same as the Getty links but before they stamped their name to them. :beers: ~ Pete . |
