The car is turning out great. Nice job! Here's a picture of Starksen Chevrolet with an SS427 Impala closest to the camera.

Love this Chevelle, the stance, wheels/tires, tow tabs screams '60's! Has the same tag frame as my car.

Guessing it was taken at nearby Antelope Vally Raceway, now known as LA County Raceway??

Thank You!! - Bill W

I am not a fan of bumper guards, but the car came with them so back on they go.
The original rubber inserts have cracks, repros are not an option.

Used my favorite rubber cleaner, it makes tires true black and they stay that way. Buff with dry towels to prevent shine. Original mounting hardware and bumper brackets/hardware cleaned as well. Polish the chrome and it's ready for assembly with new, out of the box, unpolished Au-ve-co 8624 bumper bolts.

The bumper fell into place nicely!

Park/TS lamps given the same cleaning/white paint treatment as the B/U lamps, The vintage 1157 bulbs cleaned and tested, covered with a fresh pair of lenses.

With the park/turn lamps installed and the black CA tag and frame cleaned and installed, the exterior is all wrapped up except for wheels and tires!! I have a better front tag frame coming (Thanks Tony!!)

I have a few minor items to attend to under the hood and she'll be ready to roll!!

When the temps get out of the deepfreeze here I will try a couple wheel/tire combos. Stay tuned for outdoor pix, and Thank You to everyone for the kind words and following along!!

The bumper guards look good on that car, Bill.

I agree with Tim on those bumper guards.

I don’t care for them on a Muscle Car, as they tend to clutter the front.

But, on a station wagon they look appropriate.
Wagons were designed to haul things, people/kids, lumber and nursery plants.
Plus you may need to push shopping carts out of the way, back in the 60’s.
