That clear looks great, :eek2: and you haven't cut and buffed yet, show off . What medium reducer 70 or 85 ?

Thanks Mike

Wow! Praise from Caesar!!! Thanks Mike! I used 85. The temp in the shop these past few days has been hot enough. I want to try the clear you use next time. That'll be on the Trans Am or Phil's 68 GTO!:hmmm::laugh::eek2:

Later this week I'll be shooting the engine bay, then off to the Mustang parts place (there is two in town.....not good:wink:) for inner fender splash shield rubber so I can spray the sound deadener in the wheel wells, then it's a cutting and buffing time!!! Trying a new shirt throw DA with the 3M Perfect It polishes......I'll keep you posted!

More to come...

Cheers
Dave

Damn dude... I had to come out of hiding after hearing about these pics. No need for a gif on this one.. I had to make a normal post after seeing the paint on this Mustang. Seriously you are very talented. I'm jealous.

Dave,

I have a friend that owns a Black '68 Charger.....what do say we meet in the Spring at "Mission Dolores" or "Ghirardelli Square" in San Francisco and we can reenact a certain famous chase scene.....Let`s Do IT! If they lock us up over night....no worries....it will be worth it! Ashton can bail us out :)

Note to self: Bring Black Driving Gloves and Black Rimmed Google Glasses :) Make certain the Hubcaps Stay ON!

I have even a better scenario to play out when you finish the Black '78 Y82 Trans Am, Wink, Wink :)

That's a great compliment Darrell... since you're GIFless...I know you're sincere! I appreciate the feedback and compliments. Thanks so much!!!

...And Dan..... I'm scared now to start the Trans Am...:haha:

Moving forward, it's engine bay time! I masked off what needed to be masked off with proper masking mask off material..:hmmm:... and proceeded to black out what needed to be blacked out with black out paint. I think that's about what I wanted to say:crazy:

So, looking at my undercarriage and seeing survivor cars [same year... same plant] , I took my notes and laid down the funk with proper overspray and sloppy missed spots. Since the bays were painted from the top downward, the bottom of the frame rails, front crossmember, strut rod brackets, engine mounting perches.... all look black when viewed from the top yet show the red oxide underneath. I tried to replicate that and two factory markings I found as well.

Once I get the fenders on, I'll the spray the sound deadener in the wells, transmission tunnel, and firewall/inner frame areas. More to come!

Cheers
Dave

This is great! That car is very lucky to be owned by you. I'd love to have a big block 4 speed '67 or '68 GT.

You better add some long rectangular full frames to stiffen her up for those San Francisco streets :)

Very nice Dave :)
