http://s28.postimg.cc/k69v7qq19/cxz.jpg Plymouth was preparing a production 1966 Barracuda GT that would have allowed it to race in FIA Group 3. There was a 13 page letter that outlined how all cars were to be built: a 318 (a year before the 318 was made available in 1967), aluminum intake with 600 CFM Holley 4 BBL, 4 speed trans, 8 quart oil pan, disc brakes, trunk mounted battery, 15x7 aluminum and steel wheels, Plexiglass rear window, lightweight seats, steel tube headers with full length dual exhaust and instead of a rear seat an 18 gallon aux gas tank which would have given the car a total of 40 gallons for endurance races. So what happened? It is speculated that after seeing Ford only sold 561 1965 Shelby GT350 Mustangs management got cold feet. |

http://s24.postimg.cc/bjqup5np1/cvn.jpg Look how far ahead of time Buick was. This photo was taken in 1961 for proposed tops for targeted women convertible buyers. This predated the Mopar "Mod Top" by 8 years. |
