Hey everyone thank you for the kind words! Life has been super busy with work and the kids. I called up my radio guy and said I need the radio by the end of June. At first I said "no rush" but I think that may have put me at the back of the line so I called in yesterday and he assured me he can meet my deadline.
In other news, I am slowly collecting NOS/assembly line parts just in case I do ever get the opportunity to restore the car. Acquiring the original engine would fast track this however there has not been much progress in that regard. Anyway Darrell @Cook_DW supplied me with this gas hose which will go with said parts next to my assembly line correct dated gas tank and and other parts waiting to be installed. Really happy with these! They are coded 03247 (03/24/67) which is perfect for my car. |

Radio finally installed! It took some work but I'm very happy! I'm using a 2 channel 140watt 4ohm under dash speaker. Watch until the end to see the 8 track play.

Perfect!!! ....and no matchbook needed?

Mounted the old Torq Thrusts on some tires bought at a swap in 2021.
Wheels are old 15x7 AR Torq Thrusts Tires are Goodyear Speedway Wide Tread F70-15. Rears will be next. Going to put N50s on the AR TT 8.5's |

A couple shots from Laguna Seca Cars and Coffee today. One day I will make it to the Camaro Nationals or MCACN but for now I enjoy these local small events. Plus complimentary racing on the track while taking in the cars and coffee.

Nice! Whats the offset on those front wheels, and do the tires rub? Love the look.

7x15" 1/2" Positive offset. I am re-using my cragar brand 3/8 spacers to clear the calipers but I bet 1/4" spacers would do it. The tires clear but on a sharp left turn, especially if the suspension is compressed, the left tire just barely rubs on a flaky rust area on the fender, I may just whack it in with a hammer just enough so it clears. The Torq Thrusts and these tires are night and day compared to the steel wheels I had on. I can feel the difference, especially from a stop. Maybe it is the tires? Anyway I'm really happy with the change. |

Here's a photo I took outside a little spot down the street where I usually order the soup of the day and Tri-tip sandwich.

Your car’s look and stance is perfect by adding the AR TT’s and N50’s. Great look!

Turns out the front left wheel wasn't rubbing on rust but an old attempt at a fiberglass repair. The tire also may have rubbed on the fenderwhell just a bit under full compression of the suspension. I may run just enough wheel spacer to clear the calipers and I believe that will cure the problem as I'm running 3/8" spacers now. It happens rarely so it doesn't bother me at the moment.

Car looks great. I want to do something similar with my ‘68 before I tear it apart to restore it. The 15x6 E-Ts and F70 tires are too tiny.

As much as I really like the F70-15 on this car, I think the E70-15's is a perfect size tire. The ~1/4" diameter difference would be all it needs not to rub at all. The Firestone E70-15s I had on the front with the Cragars never rubbed on rear of the fenderwell like these ones occasionally do. It is more noticable in reverse when backing out and making a sharp turn.

At least now you have tried and know. Otherwise you would always wonder.

Turns out the spacers were causing most of the problems on the tires rubbing not the actual diameter of the tires. I removed spacers that were 1/2" thick (I thought they were only 3/8" thick from memory but I was wrong. I replaced the 1/2" spacers with 1/4" spacers and the rubbing is virtually gone. On a big bump it rubs a tiny bit on the wheel well on the LH tire but I think I can run a smaller spacer before the wheel spoke contacts the caliper and likely cure it! I also realized the subframe could have been moved up just a smidge to cure the tire rubbing on the lower portion of the fender as well but so far the spacers have done the trick.

Have I mentioned I love this car!!LOL

Luckily I'm only 30 minutes away from Laguna Seca and my son and I took the car out the Saturday of the Rolex Motorsports Reunion. We had a blast. First we started at Cars and Coffee in Seaside, checked out he Lemons show across the street, then drove up the street to Laguna Seca. It was a great day of racing. If we want to keep the hobby alive I think it is important to allow the younger generations to create core memories and worry less about keeping the paint shiny.
