Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
I received my report Monday, good news/bad news. Found out the car was built on 4/23/69 (a Wednesday):-). It was sold at DeLong in San Rafael CA. Bad news is they are out of business and I live 30 minutes from there. I've had the car since
1986, had I known there were the selling dealer I may have had some luck with paperwork. Guy I bought it from thought the original owner from from SF, so those were the dealers I tried. Car has spent it's entire existence in the SF area. Born in LA, then sent north. At least I know what license plate frame to get. Ken |

Again it seems the NCRS reports are being gleaned from info recorded of who was billed for the cars also the MSO's sent to so the shipping info may sometimes differ? Back to these Zone 79 cars, it wouldn't be surprising to find they were ordered by military personnel stationed overseas so feel proud also good luck if you dig into this possibility also finding whoever may have ordered them! Steve, Thank you for the information. It would be great if they had anything. I am going to call them today.

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Is this the same SCHMIDT in Ohio?
|
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Yep.The same Schmidt... The Bob Schmidt emblem from Maumee Ohio is one the last chrome bolt on ones used. Originally Bob's father ran Carl Schmidt Chevrolet in Perrysburg ,Ohio from the 40's until his death in the mid 60's. Bob took over the dealership then and didn't change to his own name until the early 70's. The dealership then moved to Maumee Ohio , about 5 miles away, during the 1974 model year.

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
That dealership is right down the street from me.

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
I'm not sure what's going on with this, I'm involved with NCRS, but I don't have a clue why this service has ceased or if this applies to other lines of GM cars, also.
|
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
in a previous thread roy indicated that he was going on vacation for a week or so......not sure if this has any impact??
|
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
The response: 'no longer affiliated' is light years different than a vacation. It appeared this effort was receiving more positive affirmation than anything we've seen in a very long time, so why the 'change up'?
Even for those of us who got perplexing letters, either no VIN found, or codes without names, etc... it is still a positive. I hope this service continues! |
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
I agree, this is s service we would all love to see continue. I have paid for a request and hope that it will still be honored since I paid for the service. I hope someone will come on here and clarify.
|
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Well the site was still taking money yesterday when I put in an order #1451. Must be alot of takers as from other forums besides here as I saw the highest #s here in the 700s. I hope someone comes on here and lets us know whats up. I have 3 other titles I would like run also when funds become available. I thought I would try the most important car to me first to see if it matches docs and former owners wisdom.

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Here's a long winded Corvette Forum thread about NCRS and Mr. Sinor.
In post no.71 someone states "Currently the Document Validation Service is suspended until further notice. All other documents services will continue an usual." I'm not sure what this means. I'm #1117 and still waiting to hear something on my Camaro. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...surdity-4.html |
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
I was asked by a member to post this response from ROY.....
"On Friday, June 6, 2014 2:17 PM, Roy Sinor <> wrote: Tom, NCRS is researching the 69 Camaro and Nova data again. A record was kept of all reports that they considered partial. Each if this will be re evaluated. I am no longer involved in this research, I can provide you no further information as I do not know their future plans. Roy " Sent from my iPhone |
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Well that thread is interesting to say the least.....
I still have one research request in #1174....so I guess ill have to wait and see what happens |
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
In a similar thread over at CRG, June 8, Roy wrote:
"I am no longer involved with NCRS in any shape form or fashion, I'm proud of what this service provides, I'm proud of my service record to NCRS, I'm proud of the lifetime achievement award presented to me last July., I wanted to continue working on this project but will not be doing that. I no longer have access to any of the information. Enough said. Sorry" And today this: "I'm pretty sure the service will continue, I'm not privy to any of the details, do not know the plans, or who will process the stuff." |

Has the service ceased, or is it just that Roy is no longer involved? |
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Sadly it looks like rough seas happening w/ Roy also the whole NCRS? Hopefully all's soon smoothed out and the new service is back on track! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...absurdity.html ~ Pete |

I'm sorry to hear about this and about Roy not being involved with NCRS. I've been a member of NCRS since 1990 and love the organization. I've known Roy for years and have absolute respect for him.

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
I place my order on 5/29 for one of my cars. I sent an email to the service this morning inquiring about my document since I already paid for the service. I received the reply below:
"As the order page indicates “Pleas allow up to 30 days for delivery of ordered documents.” I would anticipate that we will meet that time frame. Your order was made on 5/29/2014 so I would guess you should have it before 6/28/2014". John Waggoner Administrator www.ncrs.org This indicates to me that the service is operational. |
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Word on the street is that earlier NCRS docs with Roys signature are more desirable.
Is there any weight to this? |

Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
what is the latest order number from this site that has been sent out to date?
im 1174 and waiting... |
Re: NCRS Historical Document Services
Good grief and what's next, replica Roy docs...or would that be "restoration paperwork"? Amazingly bad timing w/ these recent events considering the new NCRS service just got going also all the positive the dealer results were creating! NCRS still accepting $ for the service is good news as whatever happens, they'll most likely process those paid? Anyone that needs to may be best to get their order underway immediately, just in case any more bad erupts and things change for the worse? Whatever happens from here, again best wishes to Roy also the NCRS as a whole! Reading the 'Vette forum thread posts, when the NCRS verifies claims made for cars running through BJ, are they only confirming a specific car was NCRS certified in the past or do they look for key components still being with the cars and report or note in their files when something major's been removed before auction? ----I would be willing to bet that G.C. is at the bottom of this latest NCRS debacle. G.C. and another member tried their best to get me thrown out of two national meets and didn't succeed. Cant print his name for fear of "legal action, LOL!". He is a gigantic tool. When they finally lied right to my face I decided enough was enough, even though I had an absurdly low member#.
