... Thanks Kurt.
... I feel blessed to even own a Camaro that was built so early, drag raced it's entire life and has still survived in this condition with the Original Paint.
... Thanks for your continued help in preserving the history of the Camaro.
... I will continue to put this old drag car back together.
... Thanks

... As I researched more about this Camaro and the history of the owners I found out that Herbert Woods , who ordered the car and was the Original Owner,
... was not new to drag racing as he was a mechanic at a Pontiac Dealership in Richmond, Virginia and had previously owned a 1962 or 1963 Pontiac Catalina Super Duty with an Aluminum front end. He was friends with Jimmy Keeton ( the second owner) and also friends with Winston Parker ,who worked for WATTS Motor Co. In Williamsburg, Virginia ( who would Sponsor the car in 1969 ).
... Back then the Camaro was first being introduced and Herbert Woods wanted to order a 1967 Chevelle 396/375 but was told that the Camaro would soon to have that Motor as an option so he ordered that instead of the Chevelle.
... The build date for this Camaro is on the cowl tag and is 03D ( 4th week of March 1967 )
... I also found this Bulletin that announced that now you can use the order form at the Dealership ( that does not mention anything about a 396 motor option )
... and you can check off the SS 350
... But Under "Special Instructions " you can replace the 350 , with the , now available, 396/375 motor.
... This Bulletin is dated 3/17/67
... which is just 12 days prior to this car being Built.
... I think that this Camaro could have actually been order BEFORE THIS BULLETIN ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP.
... With Grumpy Jenkins Camaro being Built just 2 days prior to my car, I suspect that his was ordered the same way.
