This should look familiar to anyone who has done a road trip from the north to the south. Xmas break from college (Dec. 1969 to Jan 1970), my buddy Al and I drove from Boston, MA to Miami, FL in his 1969 Chevelle SS 396. 10 day trip. Made the stop at South Of The Border to eat lunch on the way down.

Same deal for me when I drove from NJ to college in Daytona '69-'71, either in a '62 convertible, '69 Roadrunner or a '70 MG Midget.

The last Muscle Car to use Redline tires was the 1970 Buick Grand Sport. They were standard equipment.

One of four stripe options for the 1969 442. The others are:

W42: Dual Stripe Hood

Lee -- my 69 did not have the chrome on the top edge of the fenders ... must have been an option I didn't choose. You're teasing me with all the black muscle cars ... LOL ... Craig

When restoring a 1970 Superbird, if you have to replace the headlite cover applicates you are supposed to paint a 1" flat black border around the headlite cover because the reproduction ones are smaller than what the factory used.

They are called "fender peak" moldings and supposedly were standard on the 1969 442. I see no RPO for them:

Was it possible to get just COPO 9737 on a 1969 Camaro SS?
