You never know what you'll find when your out driving around. Here's Don White's 69 Judge. It's a Ram Air III , 4 speed, Verdoro green and better yet that's the original paint. Nice car Don https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Hope I am not hogging up too much space here.
These two are not Judge's but I like the two BIG blocks in contrasting colors and cars next to each other in my garage.
Thanks Yenko.net.............

Re: Judges

Bandit, What was the color on that '69 Chevelle? It looks like azure turquoise. Thanks, Tim E. Penton, Jr.

Bandit 02-17-2005 06:53 AM

Re: Judges

It was called Misty Turquoise color code 34.
It was a color introduced late in the model year for 1969.
They used it in 1970 as well. I have seen it called by different names. But it is paint code 34. Just like 72 is Carousel Red for Pontiacs and it is Hugger Orange for Chevrolets.

'71 GTO help!

I apologize for being off topic, but I have a buddy of mine that runs Pure Stock, and he desperately needs a set of front fenders for his Tropical Lime '71 GTO...I figured if anyone knew, you guys would! Everything else is ready for paint, but he can't find the fenders...all help is appreciated! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Contact Barry Martens of Sonic Motors here in Michigan.
810-750-1421. Leave a message, he will get back to you.
He has a ton of GTO and TA parts. I heard he is not cheap.

Re: Judges

In 1970 GM said that all of the GM line could have over 450cid engines. All of the line except Pontiac had great hi performance engines. Why did Pontiac fall short with there new 455 in 1970?

442w30 02-28-2005 07:09 PM

Re: Judges

Probably because of the RAV program.

gtaa9 03-01-2005 03:49 AM

Re: Judges

That could be I did'nt think of that.Buick had the 455 stage1,olds 455 W-30,Chevy 454 LS-6 and Pontiac's 455HO.From what I understand the HO did'nt mean anything for the 70 455 engine.I wonder why Pontiac could'nt of made a RAIV 455?

DaJudge 03-01-2005 03:25 PM

Re: Judges

THey did in 71. A little too much too late. The heads are round ports and the intake is an aluminum one just like the 70 RA IV. John Sawruk has stated at conventions that this is one of the most underated Poncho motors around. I have to agree with him my old 71 Judge ran very well and they finally put a 12 bolt in it. ( I know they put a 12 bolt under the 70 455's as well)

gtaa9 03-02-2005 03:01 AM

Re: Judges

Yeah I know about the 71 455HO better than the 70 455HO by far.But being the first year of the 455 Pontiac should of built a better 455 in 1970 what is done is done I guess.

yellowjudge 03-02-2005 07:29 AM

Re: Judges

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif The 455 HO for 71 is a super mtr. A better street mtr, is hard to find. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

gtaa9 03-02-2005 01:21 PM

Re: Judges

I've noticest that the 71 455HO is rated at 335hp and the 70 455HO is rated at 360hp.I realize that the 71 455HO is a better motor with the roundport heads and the exhaust ect but the 70 455HO has more horsepower than the 71 455HO what gives here?
