What's left? This pile of parts, and the tail stripe, are the remaining items left:
Master Cylinder, Radiator, and wiper blades. WOOHOO!!!!:biggthumpup::biggthumpup: |
Can't wait for the video of you driving it out of the garage.

Hmmm....I do have a few phone photos I can share to keep the suspense of this Epicable thread going! Before I left I had to buff da butt one more time in preps for the stripe to go on. So, easy enough to do right? Just center up the Bee over the side reflector and stick on! Whoa...whoa...whoa.... not so fast, Potsie.:hmmm: In keeping with Mopars being that much more complicated, there actually is a slight offset of the stripe when it comes to it being centered in that marker light hole. more on this when I get to installing it. But I did come home unexpectedly on this long group of days and was able to get the freshly restored radiator installed!
I'll have to get the cameras rollin' this week. Maybe I can turn this thread into Video form?!? Oh boy... for the sake of humanity....I better not. Happy weekend! Cheers:beers: |

You know? The funny thing about work is that sometimes they want you to work. I keep telling them I don't have enough time to do this, AND work on my cars! But for some reason, they told me I could have all the I wanted to work on cars, but don't expect to actually WORK here anymore. :dunno: So, knowing I'm not going to win that battle and the one pays for the other, I felt I better actually go to WORK for the people that pay me. So that's what I've been doing, and it's been slow going in the shop. But fear not! The restored 054 radiator is in and the newly sleeved and rebuilt master cylinder is hooked up awaiting a brake bleed. So the brakes and a stripe and the Beater Bee is officially done! I'm hoping it'll be this month.... even though it was supposed to be last month!
But that's ok....I really have until November :headbang: Cheers Dave |

Serious question.
Will we get to see a pic or video of the remake of this image? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-42026-11.jpg |
Now, Darrell......I didn't put all this time, effort, money, and passion into researching paint blops, overspray patterns, and correctly painted trunk hinge grease to NOT recreate that image! Count on it!! Unless I get some offer I can't refuse on the car [like maybe Brazil...id trade the car for Brazil...:hmmm::biggthumpup:], this car is gonna get the snot beat out of it after November! I'm taking it on the National show circuit! Oh yeah.... I'm talking like Dallas and maybe Amarillo!
Cheers Dave |
----Dave,,,If you managed to trade for Brazil you wouldn't make as much on the resale as you would just selling. Brazil is deep in debt, and I assume your A12 isn't!......Bill S

Id rather trade for a Brazilian wax than the country.. https://m.popkey.co/6bbfda/eWqlr_f-maxage-0.gif
Maybe autocorrect got you and you meant Balise Island.. https://media.giphy.com/media/7v735rSZA1Szm/giphy.gif |

Yeeeeeeaaahhh!!!!!:headbang: There is a lot of fan noise in the back....but at least you can hear it run! Freshly painted engines sure do smoke a lot....hence the shop fans in high. Just a final buff and stripe away!!! Cheers Dave |
Congratulations, you should be very proud of yourself; the car came out beautiful. Graveyard Cars got nuthin' on you.
|
Very nice!

Congrats! Fantastic job and thank you for the help thus far on the Charger.

Welp.....we all know setbacks happen. Several disasters prevented Apollo 1 from lifting off on time. Kraft had to go through countless recipes until, by accident, they came up with Velveeta. Which, coincidentally, fixed an all-weather lubrication problem on Apollo 1!:hmmm: And along those disaster lines comes a quote as I'm trying to align the Bee logo on the passenger's side that remains as true today as it did back then..." Oh the HUMANITY!!!!"
See, like the hood decal being installed a certain way, the rear stripe has a little offset and it isn't centered in the reflector opening. The forward goggle tip of the Bee's helmet and the stinger's tip go through the mid bodyline. Now, these were applied by hand rather fast so there's inconsistency among all of the cars. But, my before pictures show the Bee in the correct spot. So what do I do? Install it wrong....what else!!!???:mad2::confused2::frown: So, you do what most of us would do in that circumstance.....throw stuff, yell until you lose your vision, and then walk away from the project with thoughts of just rolling it out to the curb for the recycle guy to pick up. Then after some cool down and a new stripe arriving from FedEx, you go for take two and nail it!!!:headbang: Some progress pics.... Cheers:beers: Dave |

Great to follow along. Excellent work and thanks for taking time to post the pictures. Now on to tire roasting

Dave,
You have put into words, what most of us feel/live trying to resurrect these beauties. The Bee looks great, now get going on the Stang!! I'm sure it will be just as impressive. Nice job on the project, you are in inspiration.... heck, I'm going to try one now.. probably will regret this. Anywho, thanks for the entertainment, looking forward to the Mustang project now. Phil Woj. |
The 'Bee looks fantastic Dave, great job. Enjoyed following the thread.

You mean, like this Jim?:hmmm::biggthumpup::tongue:
Oh, and that positive battery harness retainer orientation has since been corrected! Oh, don't worry Ryan....I'm leaning on passing having the car "judged". Cheers Dave |
Dave, the car is just plain stupid....
In a good way. https://media.giphy.com/media/iZp1ycGmDJ3BS/giphy.gif |
You have to get it judged!!!
It makes sense:-) I am usually not a huge fan of the idea of judging someone pride and joy but in this case it feels right. Maybe another wire holding clip is backwards..... could you sleep knowing it is....... ? Eyan |
