Donnie,

I`d say it`s more of a '69 Cap, since MOST '69`s came with them.....and if you ask a real '69 guy....he would tell you the same....we all know you`re still a '70 Guy

How`s the progress? What did you get accomplished on Sunday? Post a Picture.

Dan,
got a lot of odds and ends finished. started it on Monday couldnt run it long both short lines going in the carb were leaking. was able to get the rear one to seal up, but not the front. ordered a new set of lines will get them on this Sunday. I was using the original lines to the car, so I guess the flare has been messed up from years of on and off. after this is fixed I hope theres NO water leaks!

Don, just look at all 42 pages of your 69 wow, people have know ideal of all the time it takes to do a car. Seen it last year at nocc, was stunning to look at, love white- black top, black stripe. Didn't matter parts were missing still great to look at. Hope to see it, in 9 days. see you there Steve.

Re: Donnie`s new 1969 Dover White L78 Chevelle

I'm with you Don don't break the tabs off it. Maybe a nice piece of stained wood with the emblem mounted to it and lay it in the back seat or maybe up in the package tray between the 6/9 speakers!

Back in the 80's and 90's it was not cool to have dealer emblems on cars. That has changed and now it is REALLY cool to have them on the car. Put it on!

Re: Donnie`s new 1969 Dover White L78 Chevelle

Nice piece for a great Chevy Donnie!!! If Bobb put them on with posts, I would put it on the same way. Did you see any evidence with the original trunk lid?

P.S. another thot.... if Bobb had license plate frames in '69 you could go that route if it just KILLS you to drill the holes. Be brave and GOOD LUCK! Pls post pix of your finishing touches on your L78!

Re: Donnie`s new 1969 Dover White L78 Chevelle

O.K. Thanks for the help looks like i'll be getting the drill out.

2nd owner told me he took the Bobb emblem off the tail panel when he did one of his 4 repaints.
I found this during tare down.

Donnie 02-02-2015 03:50 PM

Re: Donnie`s new 1969 Dover White L78 Chevelle

Sam, I did that so if I ever got a Bobb emblem I could match up the pin width.
all I had to go on was the 2nd owner saying it came from Bobb.

I now have paper work to back that up.

Donnie,

If you ever want to remove the emblem in the future, it has to be in the absolute easiest place to repair on the car.

I'd put it on and wear it proudly.

Phil Woj.
