But yeah, thank goodness she doesn't know where I live!

Re: 67 Caprice 427 - Any thoughts?
You did the right thing Jacquie. You made some money, made some friends, had a great excursion and sold a car back to it's original owner who just happens to be famous. Kudos to you! Don called me last week and seemed like a very nice and down to earth guy. Unfortunately I had a customer in the shop so I did not get a chance to reminisce with him about our pro stock racing days in the early 80's. I don't think you should have any regrets. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: 67 Caprice 427 - Any thoughts?
No. Both the cars are in the same storage bldg so he will see it when he picks up the Caprice. Ya never know I guess.

Re: 67 Caprice 427 - Any thoughts?
Jacquie, that was a very nice gesture to sell the Caprice back to Mr. Hardy. Very nice, indeed. He had to be attached to it after 42 years of ownership and to lose it after what seems to be a nasty divorce had to have been heartbreaking. I would hate to go through something like that. Anyway, 'ya did good and made a new friend!

[/ QUOTE ] Whoa, hold on a minute...I'm not so sure I'm THAT nice! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif I didn't give it up so easily...I bought that car because I loved it and wanted it! He had to call back several times before he totally convinced me. It would have been hard to say no to any original owner wanting their car back...but Don being who he is made it even more difficult. Everyone's happy...Don will be reunited with his car that he thought he would never see again...and the whole process of finding the car covered with dust, discovering who it belonged to, checking out all the originality of the car, finding the cool POP in the glovebox, cleaning it up, meeting and talking to Don and Sue, as well as new friendships made (you're right Rick, more than one https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif) at SYC and TC with people who advised me throughtout the whole ordeal...has been priceless. It has been a fun and exciting experience, and it's not over yet...I still get to look forward to meeting Don face to face over lunch when he comes to get his Caprice! How Chttps://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gifhttps://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gifL is that!! |
