Sure like the patina on those ladder bars and tow tabs. I can't wait to see the finished day-two product!

Holy smokes Sam,

There is a lot of instillation there... You better get a crackin' my friend unless that's an older photo.... We only have a few weeks to go here before the big show!!

Your '69 dated Sun Super Tach arrived safe and sound and looks great. It will find its way on to the steering column. Thanks Jason!

Sam,

Great to hear Sam. It should look right at home when installed.

“Fit” is a subjective term. I finessed the passenger's side in this evening. It was MUCH easier than the driver’s side. That side was a challenge. The reverse lockout linkage/pivot point had to be removed. The distance between the headers and steering column, z-bar, and engine mount are paper thin!!! The trajectory of the output ends of each header are kind of heading in different directions. Still have some more finessing but the sound these things will make should be worth it!

You got that right Rich. No time to spare. Every waking minute that i am not at work is spent in the shop on the ‘velle. Lori has been VERY understanding - I’m not WORTHY!!!!!! I do have a plan and so far am staying on schedule. Stand by............

Wow, I can imagine. They will sound KILLER and you'll forget all about the fitment!

Can't wait to see the end result Sam, it's going to be great!

Sam,

It appears my "Day 2 Clinic" idea is doing some voodoo-hoojoo on YOU! :hmmm::thumbsdown: Personally....i think this is all Mike and Grady's fault... what with their 'bajillion point Day 2 COPCAR and such!

Mike.... I'm stealing those batteries. Bee is best viewed through Sunglasses!:rolleyes2:

Looking forward to seeing you all and seeing these Day 2 mods in person! So FRIGGIN cool!

Cheers
Dave

Mr. Chevy 10-28-2017 11:40 PM

Sam, I would gladly come over after work and help you but it doesn't help that we live about a 4 hour drive apart...

I finished up detailing the yellow beast last Friday... LOL

Not helpful Rich!!!! ;>) Tranny and cross-member are in and headers are both pointed in the right direction - that was a monumental feat requiring spousal unit help (somehow thot I could do that myself!! LOL!!!)

Mr. Chevy 10-31-2017 11:28 PM

I want to hear that thing run with the Super Scavenger Headers...

Soooooooooo.....had a blast at MCACN. WHAT A SHOW!!!! Super seeing all my buds and way cool muscle cars! Glad the show goers were able to enjoy my Chevelle, except for the part that it didn’t show up. Well, I had a few technical set backs leading up to the show and was not able to recover, so I really had no choice but to give up my slot to Grady and his beautiful D2 COPO Camaro - you’re welcome MCACN goers! I was very disappointed not to have my ‘velle there but will be looking forward to next year. Things are tracking once again so here’s a teaser....

I picked up these M/T aluminum VCs at a garage sale 10 or so years ago for $15 (with a pair of aluminum SB VCs thrown in for good measure). I restored them recently....

Ha Eddie, that brings back memories of the Roof Deuce of course. Paul & Linda Roof HAD to have a velvet Hurst shift handle because of the cold western PA winters, but down here in balmy southwestern OH those fuzzy handles are just not necessary. BTW, I bought that NOS fuzzy handle from a great American living in, of all states, Alaska!

Tenney 12-06-2017 11:48 AM

Diggin' the details!

VintageMusclecar 12-06-2017 12:46 PM

For those who haven't seen Sam's Chevelle in person yet--it'll be worth the wait.

Thanks again to Sam for allowing me to be a part of your project. :flag:

Still have one of those brand new in the package from the late 60's. Didn't help much when we drove our musclecars in -30 temps back then. That solid chunk of aluminum just stayed COLD!

Thanks fellows. Am taking my time (now that I have time) and having fun converting my Chevelle.

File the below under nurturing my OCD, but I wanted to keep things authentic and period correct, so I used this 60’s vintage #56 Murray "Gold Seal" hose clamp to attach my tach to steering column.
