Re: Backyard finds today
As much as I love the '69z in general, he made a mistake in selling the mopar before he really knew it's value. The Daytona is white/blue interior. It had floor rot and the obvious side damage. Definately a nice Mopar to restore, sitting on original tires still! A nice buy at less than $ 10,000!

Re: Backyard finds today
I stand corrected. White with a blue interior: one of one. And it still would have been a nice buy for $50,000.
|
Re: Backyard finds today
Steve, who says it's 1 of 1? Ma Mopar didn't keep tabs on those combos.

Re: Backyard finds today
Rarity: I'm going from 30 or so years of experience and owning a few wing cars over the years. I've never seen another white on blue Daytona in all that time. I'd be curious to see the fender tag/broadcast sheet from that car.
|
Re: Backyard finds today
I haven't heard of a white and blue Daytona either, but experience does not a 1 of 1 make. Out of 505+ built, we don't know how many were white, for starters. BTW, white and red is my favorite Charger combo! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Backyard finds today
Actually I do remember seeing a color breakdown many years ago when I was documenting my hemi daytona with Galen. At the time I had a Y2 yellow hemi daytona with the black cloth insert interior that was documented as one of one. So I do believe there was something out there breaking down the color combinations. Either way I think we can agree that the white/blue car is very rare.

I'd still cut the wingo car loose, I just like fathom green '69's https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

The old coupe is cool, I like that.

Re: Backyard finds today
OMFG!
That is cool! I just flashed back to being 13 and making my dad slow down to get the phone number of a junkyard in SD where I thought I spotted a Willys. He stood there when we got back to MN, looking at me like I had just lost my mind, while the owner of the yard told me it was a Studebaker of the same vintage......I'm still looking out the side window more than I should. Congrats! |
Re: Backyard finds today
Can you read the build sheet??
|
Re: Backyard finds today
Whats the deal on the Willys?? Looks likeit's been ther since the 60's.Any backround on her. I luv those cars. In California??
|
Re: Backyard finds today
The buildsheet is readable now that I dusted it off. With all the drama lately I would rather not post the clean picture. The guy I bought it from also has a buldsheet from the inside along with all the other paperwork, IF he can find it.

Re: Backyard finds today
Does that look like a dump truck to anyone else on the door of the coupe?

their still out there
I just found out today about a '63 split window 340 horse 4-spd that is still sitting in the basement of the guys' sister. He wrecked the car in '72 and parked it in her basement. Has a broken nose, a cracked rear and the interior is trashed. The guy I talked to won't disclose the location or owner.
I will post later about a couple of early '70's T/A's and a JS23 in FM3 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif. |

here's the pic I have of one of the Brewster Green T/A's. Only saving part of this car is that it is sitting on a concrete pad as it hasn't moved since I saw it 2 years ago but the bad pad is is that it is rusting from the top down. Yes the car is complete, shaker hood and all.

here's all you could see for the past year and a 1/2 of the Panther Pink '70 Challenger R/T. This car was equipped with rear window louvers, front and rear wings and a Direct Connection '69-1/2 style Six Pack hood. No one is ever around for me to find out more info on the car. It thankfully is no longer sitting in there and I'm waiting to hear from one of my customers as to where it went.

Re: their still out there
I was out driving around today and found this car for sale a few miles from my place: 1967 Chevelle SS 396/325 four speed. Original 396/325 engine. Here's the block codes: TO822ED 7B102718. I couldnt see the VIN as the doors were locked. The guy wants $10,000 with for it along with an extra 67 Chevelle. The extra car wasn't around to see. Here's some photos in case anyone needs a 67 SS. (I have too many cars as it is)

Re: their still out there
It has a black interior with red painted dash and a bunch of vintage Stewart warner gauges on the column. Looks like an interesting project for someone into Chevelles.

Re: Backyard finds today
Really sorry about all my pic links not working. I lost my web host that the first few were probably on, I'll see if I can repair them Monday at work.

Re: Backyard finds today
Somebody help me out here and explain what's up with those goofy alternator & power steering brackets on the red Chevelle?!

Re: Backyard finds today
Anyone in the Racine, Wis area see the green first generation camaro sitting outside where Hwy 31 and MM meet? Looks to have been sitting in the home's very old garage and they dragged it out to the driveway. Looks like a great car for somebody!

Cool grab Des!
Bonus Bill Mitchell style wheels too! ~ Pete |
Re: Backyard finds today
Great score!
I wish that when people had these in the yard they would at least cover them all the way to the ground so that grass couldn't grow around the edges. Either that or spray some grass killer. Grass = more rust |
Re: Backyard finds today
Great find! Especially with the original M22.

Re: Backyard finds today
more pics here if you got time to kill, (car was sitting there since April '86 by the way)

This came with a house my wife and I just bought in So. Cal. The owner of the house had the car since 1970 and it has been parked in the same spot for 19 years. 71,000 original miles and it's completely original including the paint. No rust, 400, auto, a/c, tilt, console, Brown/Gold standard. The varmits have been living in the engine compartment so it will take a bit of cleanup. I'll be taking the fence down to get it out sometime next month when it cools down a bit.
