Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
Dan -- just an observation ... I have seen many driveshafts attempt to exit where they belong. Looking at the loop bolted to the mount extending back about 12-16 inches. Sure hope it's strong enough to do the job ... TAZ

Epic build, i'm a '69 die hard lover and your Chevelle is perfect. L88/stick/stance/every vintage speed parts, wow! It is in my opinion the craziest day 2 build and one of the best looking '69 Chevelle I've ever seen, every small details make it perfect. Hands down.
Yann Edit : if you're interested in selling some "day 2 speed shop" decals, I'd love to rock them on my Chevelle! |

Kurt's car will be the crap out mine up to 1320 feet, but I will kill him from Janesville to Beloit.
The 3.31 is one of the weak point yet, |

Not sure what size your header collector is but I had round 4-bolt flanges made for a 3.5" collector diameter and I have some extras. |
Re: 1969 SS396 325hp Chevelle
I just read thru this post again, I love it. It's builds like this and the photo documentation of the process that makes it a great learning tool for anyone attempting doing a proper resto themselves.
Thanks again for sharing this build with us. |
Picked up a super clean 12 bolt housing from good friend and Yenko Chevelle legend Nick Morocco :D
Dan ordered new 12 bolt Strange Components, C-clip Eliminators and Axles, with 4.10 gears.....we cut the flanges and prepped the housing for sandblasting and powder-coating. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psqomxdrom.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psqstrrrbx.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps17ofosnk.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psg0kgcit0.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psmavga02o.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psnebbkkna.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...pstkehlrdz.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psgkjemzjg.jpg Dan |
That was a fun visit to Nick's glad this worked out:-)
4.10's will be fun:-) Ryan |
YOU at Portillo's was a treat :D
Dan |
So how is that P&G shifter working out? Does it actually shift like a straight line shifter? That's what the directions claimed :)
|
No, not an In Line shifter.
