One of those "I wish I hadn't sold it" pics... It was squeezed down a little from the straps but did sit nicely off the trailer too.

My first Nova, a 72 circa 1991.

The coils had been heated and the leafs ruined as well. I rebuilt the front end and swapped in a multileaf rear suspension and raised the car quite a bit. I got rearended while waiting on a drawbridge and the Nova was totalled

I'm almost computer illiterate, so adding stuff I used to own will be tough, and I'm down with back surgery recuperation. But, my signature pic is one of my favorites, not only 'cause it's mine, just because everything "fits". The wheels and tires that are on it now are about the same except I have Cragar SS on the rear.
Now, the Camaro on page # 30 carrying the wheels as the traffic in the opposite lanes appears to be just going about their business is the best!!!

Re: Is "stance" important?

By the way, check out the background, this was Capital in 1969, and several of Larson's, Dick Harrell F/C, The Shark,a lot of funnies. My car is next to what looks like HemiDart. That day must have been some special payout to have the likes of those guys there.

Re: Is "stance" important?

This thread is so full of awesome looking rides, from the sky high drag car look to the ready to pounce look they all look great.

I have always said the right stance and right wheels/tires can make or break the look of a real nice built car. I have heard mention that my car looks like a low rider......I like it myself and think the stance is killer, plus I have 4 different sets of wheels and tires to change up the look in just a few minutes time.

Re: Is "stance" important?

As fate would have it, nope .

Just after I got the `cage certified and harnesses installed, I was planning on taking it to Kil-Kare. I went to the local cruise-in the day before T&T (when it was at the Steak & Shake, before it moved to Company 7).

As I was coming home, the engine lost a roller lifter. I pulled it down, fixed the damage from that, buttoned it all back up, got it running again and in less than 30 minutes of run time it snapped the head off a valve.

I threw in the towel on the 572 at that point and built a mild 9-1 496 for it so I could sell the car. That 496 wound up running 6.50's @ 111 (in the 1/8 mile of course) with the car's new owner. That roughly translates out to 10-teens @ 130+. (FWIW, there was still no comparison between the 572 and the 496--the 572 would've mauled the 496)

He subsequently added a Vortech supercharger to the 496 and changed the cam. It ran 5.50's @ 135+ in the 1/8 afterwards. That roughly translates out to 8.60's @ ~160-ish.

Re: Is "stance" important?

Mmmm? A stance of another topic? What started out as a little cleanup under the hood, now my wife says," hon, I don't want to know how much $$' but will you stop rolling around under the Camaro? New brakes, new SS lines, new shocks sprayed semi-gloss grey, a correct US stamped NOS master cylinder, striped the rear to find a BX rear, a bunch of wire color corrections, a new 850 carb and new valve springs which should REALLY wake her up after 20 years of 700lbs of valve cycles....getting ready for June @ Carlisle.

I agree on this GTO. Nice 79 IL plates!

here are my favorite stances (partial to the black one, I believe the original rear springs are modified to level ride height with 15" H60s on back, with original 14s still on front):
