Talked to mom & dad...they're about an hour out, and it's snowing pretty hard...always the optimist, mom says "but it's a dry snow"! They're both worried about how cold it's gonna be sitting in line for an hour or so waiting to get in, with the engine off since they're only allowed 1/8 tank of gas... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

It's snowing lightly now,but nothing significant.
The winds are hitting 60 MPH +,so you trailers be careful as you are as vulnerable as a sailboat at sea.
The city of Chicago began phase II of the 800 million dollar two year long reconstruction of the Dan Ryan,aka IL-90/94,THIS very week which means massive ramps closures and detours.
The express center lanes are where all traffic is being re-routed as they close off ALL the local side exit ramps,and you have to find an alternative.
This affects 31st street which is the exit for McCormick Place,among others.
The Bishop-Ford express way between Indiana & Illinois is down to two lanes.
Add the Toll booth and let the expletives fly.

Well after driving for hours in the snow and never easing winds!!..only had to use 4 wheel drive once..for about 8 miles..snowed from the Indiana line all the way to Chicago but the wind was real bad....several semis( 3 or 4 )were in the median.but, I am here and set up in my room. Great venue for a show!!..camera is charging..some real nice iron here. Updates to follow.

We're Back !! Great one day trip into Chicago.Roads got better the farther east we went. I'm sure it effected the car count. That said, The nice car, were sure NICE !! Nickey Chicago group was sweet! Helen made it, wonderful lady to visit with!!
Hope all have a safe trip home.
