Really wished that Jet Hot did a white matte coating... like the older ceramic coated headers.. but the matte black was the next best option... the silver and gloss black and other colors just would not fit with the vintage Patina and Day 2 look of the car. If you want a pic of the headers as they came out of the box I will post one later today... getting ready to go pick up a clutch and gasket set so we can put the heads on later this afternoon.

BTW, have you replaced the original rubber brake hoses? Originality is one thing but those original hoses do not last. The may look OK but after 38 years they won't hold the pressure during a panic stop.

I know from experience: I had a front brake hose blow out on a Z11 I had back in 1980, and those hoses were only 11 years old at the time. Forget about the theory that dual master cylinders will divert the fluid to the rear system. Dont bet your life on it! It was quite an adventure: no brakes trying to stop the car as it went down a hill, picking up speed to about 100 mph, on a tree lined road, threading the needle through a four-way intersection with a red light, past a school as the buses were pulling out. I was only able to stop as the car crested the next hill, with the emergency brake jammed all the way to the floor. I was 17 at the time and I have never ignored my brake lines again.

Oh, and listen to your mom about always wearing clean underwear. I definitely needed a new pair after that...and a new seat cover as well.

Yep replaced the hoses immediately... one thing I am not going to mess around with is the ability to stop a ton and a half of metal...
Brakes are essential... LOL used to think differently... older and wiser now though!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Put the heads on but couldn't get a correct set of intake gaskets nor could I get a clutch today... so the engine will have to wait to be reinstalled for a few more days... or a week... will post the photos of the assembled block and the headers in a little while!

Same here. On the T/A I carefully removed the originals, noted the markings and then put them in plastic bags for posterity. Even the original date coated fuel and emission lines as well. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
