Re: Vintage Wheels

The factories got the message and one response to the aftermarket wheel craze was Mercury's 1964 Comet Cyclone wheelcover intended to look like a chromed stock wheel. Were these wheelcovers made of metal? I seem to remember a neighbor's '65 Comet with these wheelcovers and I thought they were plastic.

American introduced the 200-S or "Daisy" wheel in 1969. My buddies and I called them "flower mags." Note the "hall of fame" wheels at the top of the ad. Torq-Thrust!

For my 1,801st post, a word from our sponsor (HRM September, 1960): Pick the LB groom that's best for your hair!

No wonder the women's movement happened. They were tired of constantly washing and changing pillow cases stained by hair goop. Anyone remember the Pomade scene in "Raising Arizona"???

Seen those new retro style 17" rims on the 2006 'Canadian Pony' or 'California Edition' Mustangs....pretty cool for a Ford? . I can't find a closer pic but try this link. .
