Re: Vintage Wheels
The factories got the message and one response to the aftermarket wheel craze was Mercury's 1964 Comet Cyclone wheelcover intended to look like a chromed stock wheel. Were these wheelcovers made of metal? I seem to remember a neighbor's '65 Comet with these wheelcovers and I thought they were plastic.

Re: Vintage Wheels
American introduced the 200-S or "Daisy" wheel in 1969. My buddies and I called them "flower mags." Note the "hall of fame" wheels at the top of the ad. Torq-Thrust!

Re: Vintage Wheels
For my 1,801st post, a word from our sponsor (HRM September, 1960): Pick the LB groom that's best for your hair!
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...WaxHRM9-60.jpg No wonder the women's movement happened. They were tired of constantly washing and changing pillow cases stained by hair goop. Anyone remember the Pomade scene in "Raising Arizona"??? |
