Re: Pre Barrett Jackson Pavillions Cruise Pics
I believe I have pics of that AWB 68 Biscayne back in the late 70's at one of the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals where I was a participant...as I recall, it was yellow with red flames or something....

I knew I had a pic of that Biscayne...August, 1978 NHRA Street Machine & Van Nationals in Tulsa, OK...I'm sure it's the same car per the info that Mark provided in an earlier post.

Yep...that has to be the same car...notice the wheelie bars on both cars.

Re: Pre Barrett Jackson Pavillions Cruise Pics
Yeah, that's the car from St. Louis. It was originally built by Hollie Swindahl(sic). He was well known as owner/builder/driver of the Backup Pickup in the sixties. It was an early Ford truck exhibition vehicle similar to Maverick's Little Red Wagon, only it wheelied backwards down the dragstrip! He still owns it to this day. Back to the Biscayne, a friend of mine owned it back in the seventies and then it was passed around quite a bit around the area. He said it was quite a rough ride but it would go on the back bumper at will.

Cool Stuff Mark... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
Any chance you may post a pic of your AWB Chevelle? |
Re: Pre Barrett Jackson Pavillions Cruise Pics
I sold the Chevelle several months back. It was a modern project car that never got very far along. I was searching for a real car with race history and ended up buying the ex-Braun Bros. 1955 Chevy C/Gasser last summer. Straight axle, magnesium 5-spokes, and lots of engine setback.

Re: Pre Barrett Jackson Pavillions Cruise Pics
The more I look at the Biscayne...it looks like it needed a tad less rear altering and maybe a pinch of front to look more "even"...that sure is a lot of overhang un the back !
