It is so much fun. One of the most fun cars I have ever owned.

How has your range been for the Lucid?

How has the Rivian been as well?

I don't fully charge either as they say the batteries last longer and only fully charge for long trips. I think the Lucid usually shows about 395 miles range when I charge it and the Rivian shows about 250 miles. I drive the Rivian daily and usually plug it in every couple nights.

I don't know if they are green but I know they are fast :-)

UGH... but we all knew this was the logical outcome...

Electric cars could pay tax by the mile

Government climate advisers propose tax system to cover fuel duty shortfall

Electric cars face being fitted with tracking devices under proposals for a pay-per-mile road taxation system put forward by the Government's own climate advisers.

The Climate Change Committee (CCC) says the Government needs to find ways to cover the "significant hole" in the public finances left by the loss of
fuel duty and other taxes when petrol and diesel cars are replaced by electric models.

I saw an article posted a few days ago about someone towing a car and trailer 2700 miles with their Rivian. They had to stop to recharge every 100 miles. I know that electric cars aren't really made for towing long distances but I didn't think the batteries would be drained that quickly.

Correct they were towing a Mustang. Towing and batteries are a non starter.

Towing Batteries and Air conditioning, or heat, or accessories, or anything convenience based is ditto.

When I towed 8 hours over to Carlisle I used a CUMMINS Turbo Diesel. I was able to pass big rigs at will and the engine automatically applied engine brake in tow/haul mode going down hills.

Long trips are stressful enough -especially towing- you just want to get there and have what you need to do so safely.

Hard to beat the BTU's of gasoline....even more with diesel.
