In my database I have a black car with VIN 124379N649xxx (i dont know the last 3 numbers) NOR 335923 X22D80. Car had 712 interior also and was last seen in Pittsburgh PA.

I would bet its this car....

Not sure it’s a 68.
Those side pipes look factory and that was a 69 year only.
Also, don’t see the push button for the door.
Lastly, looks to be Riverside gold color which was also a 1969 color.

Yes! I've been fitting the grilles to the car. These are the ones made from Martelleria in Germany that restores these for BMW. I am currently waiting on the driver's side outer grille...
