These pictures are of Terry R's car, also very nice original car 69 SS/RS LeMans blue 396 loaded. These pictures show more details on where trunk paint was applied or not. Also notice the wire...

Dave sweet looking Monte Carlo's. Not easy to get those that straight. Can you take a good close up of your trunk paint for comparision.
